Ergohuman Plus Elite V2- Best price

I recently starting working from home where I have a home office. I never invested in the study as most of the time I am at work and hardly sit in my study.

Now I work from home 8-10 sitting average and my back started hurting and for a quite some time I have been looking for a good chair and have shortlisted

  1. Ergohuman Elite V2 Mesh or Leather.
  2. Herman Miller Aeron. Is it worth paying that much extra???

I am starting this discussion as I am unable to get a good deal.

It is a catch 22 now, should I buy now and find out later that I paid ~$150 extra or wait and keep troubling my back.

Looking for help from other fellow bargainers.

  • I've never sat in one of the Ergohuman chairs so can't compare but I've owned an Aeron for almost 14 years and couldn't be happier with it. I was so happy I bought a Setu stool for my hobby room.

Yes they're expensive but given how long they last the cost per ownership time is very reasonable IMO but then I do work from home one day a week plus spend a lot of time at the computer anyway so it's had many hours of seat time. I had the gas lift replaced under warranty and onsite at about the 11 year mark. I did recently notice part of the posture fit bracket has cracked and am debating repairing it now that it's past the 12 year warranty period.

The posture fit has never made a significant difference IMO and is a $300 part so not sure if I just leave it, repair it or just buy a new remastered version Aeron.

    • Never noticed you can't edit your replies before. Anyway I've been browsing the Ergohuman range to see if it's something I would consider and yes prices are about half but warranty is only 3 years, a quarter of the standard warranty on the Aeron, and excludes the wheels and gaslift ie the parts most likely to have an issue. They don't seem to have much faith in the quality of their product.

      • Temple and Webster website give 5 year warranty for Ergohuman Chairs instead of 3 years from the official site. U can get an extended warranty too of 2 years from the official site but that would cost $75.

  • Forget the leather, mesh is the way to go. I scored an Ergohuman V2 on Gumtree for $80 and have been using it for 3 years now with no problems.

    • …how?

  • Was looking at the same two chairs a few years ago; unfortunately, they were rarely on sale, couldn't find anything on eBay (and use a code), and Gumtree was barren at the time. Eventually managed to find the Aeron on sale from Living Edge for $1100, and haven't looked back.

  • I spent months deciding, once I sat in an aeron I went and bought it the next day during a sale. Ergohuman has a dog shit warranty compared to aerons aswell

  • Thank you all for contributing.

I have made mind on Aeron but cannot spend more than $1000.

Any sales going on and how did you score that price from Living Edge?

  • I stumbled upon this while searching today. I actually have both V2 Mesh, and Aeron. Can't complain about Aeron. I find V2 mesh fits around me with more supportive bits, and it actually looks nicer because of the polished metal bits. But the two chairs look so different, your personal taste will matter the most. I was actually searching here to see whether there are any deals on them so that I can buy another one.

  • Like smurfz, I just stumbled on this.

I've been eyeing the Ergohuman chairs for a while. I simply can't justify buying an Aeron (and I need a headrest as well).

However, hitting a conundrum with resellers. The OP mentioned V2.

I stumbled on Ergohumans.com.au and not sure if they are legit.

They are advertising that they are the authentic reseller of the international Ergohuman, but the names they give their chairs are different to those from other websites.

Any ideas if they're actually legit?

    • The official ErgoHuman website is legit for Australia and you could also try getting it from this place https://www.templeandwebster.com.au/Ergohuman-Fit-High-Back-…

      • I am also looking at an Ergohuman. Did you end up buying one? If so which website did you use. I feel more comfortable buying from Ergohuman.com.au but they have much longer wait times.
