    i play mostly fps games
    like pubg cs overwatch etc
    playing on 1440p 144hz

Why do you even need to upgrade?

    • its kinda hard to run these games on 2k monitor with my 1080

      • So you currently have a 1440p 144hz monitor?

Counter-Strike and Overwatch are difficult to run on a 2k monitor with a GTX1080? You're joking.

        • graphics setting on low gets 130 mid fight for ow :D
          100 fps on pubg

          • @idrinkwater23: So… If you can't get 144fps on a 2k monitor, why buy a 144hz 2k monitor…?

            • @spackbace: well i am asking to see if its worth 240 or go back to 2k
is it so hard to understand?

  • 2k 144hz Monitor or 240hz FHD for My Gtx 1080?

    Are you playing competitively?

Depends on the person, but I doubt you could really tell between 144hz and 240hz. I personally would prefer the higher resolution, also more useful when your not playing games.

Stick with 1440p. I run an ultrawide 1440p at 120hz and even though on new releases I'm only getting 60-80 fps, anything is better than potato 1080p

  • if you play competitive games a lot then it can be worth it - and i say that because i think 240hz tn panels are overpriced atm, 360hz has been demoed and is coming soon down the line too so…

I too run a GTX 1080 with i5 4690k CPU and bought the msi optix mag271cqr a few months ago. 27" VA 144Hz 2560 x 1440 curved and am very happy with it. 3 years warranty. I get about 90fps in most recent games on high settings. Hope this helps. Umart have it for $589 atm which is slightly better than the $599 I paid.
