Trampoline Warranty and Closed Company

We bought a trampoline about two years ago and my 8yo daughter is the only one that uses it. Yesterday we found one of the springs had completely ripped out from the fabric while my daughter was jumping on it. The nets are also in a bad condition and so is the cover of the springs. From memory the trampoline was about $300.

I tried to look up the company we bought it off to get replacement parts but it seems it has now shut down. Not sure what happened as they had great reviews etc. the company was part of another business and it looks like all the businesses have shut down.

What can I do in terms of warranty and spare parts in this situation? Also is it safe to use a trampoline if one of the springs has come out?

Can't get blood from a stone, but $300 sounds very cheap for a trampoline so I'm not sure 2 years is a bad lifespan for it.

No idea about if it's safe to use in its current condition though, but is a trampoline really so essential you'd want to take the risk?

When I was a lad my trampoline only had about half its springs by the end. It’s probably fine.

    • You've only got 3 limbs left, it's probably fine 😉

When I wad a lad we were so poor we used our mattresses as trampolines.

You had a mattress, we were that poor, I had to use a sponge :(

A sponge?! You were lucky, we had to use bedrock.

@rompastompa: Well of course we had it tough. Ceiling only four foot high and made of cement.

              @blitz: They were that high?
I wore out my knees from crawling around

Kids now-a-days don't know how tough we had it in the olden days eh

These sounds like wear and tear which will not be covered by warranty as they are not manufacturing defects.

Don't worry I'm sure your daughter will bounce back.

I agree - no need to jump to conclusions.

This is wear and tear…….. Guessing it was left outside in the weather.

Anyhow if they are out of business, what do you want? You can't get warranty out of thin air.

  • You probably will find that most trampoline sellers say you need to cover, move under cover or packup the trampoline during winter/wet weather.

2 years your lucky, my kid broke his after 3 days. mind you he is 36 and 130 kg, he needs to move out

    • needs to move out

At 130kg any sort of moving would be good.

  • My trampoline died today

    RIP

    I wouldn't risk it.
