[Advice Needed] Bought Quilton Tissues Online but Lost in Delivery - What to Do Next?

Hi,

Last week I ordered 2 packs of 48 rolls of Quilton toilet tissues through Amazon. But so far it has not been delivered.
According to the delivery tracking, the last move is that the package is in an Auspost facility.

I contacted Amazon and I was informed because it has not been delivered yet, it is presumed missing because the delivery tracking system has not been updated for a few days.
So I have two options: 1. replacement items (different brand - $ 130 x 2 $ 260 because the original brand is not in stock) or 2. a full refund.

I'm not so happy about this. I have trouble finding toilet rolls in supermarkets in my area.

I don't believe it is coincidently "missing".

How is this being investigated thoroughly so that a package is not easily gone "missing" and find the culprit?

Please advise what I can do?

Thanks

Please advise what I can do?

    You have two options:

    1. replacement items (different brand - $ 130 x 2 $ 260 because the original brand is not in stock) or 2. a full refund.
    • I am finding with Amazon if things hit the roof, they won't push the supplier/vendor to do the right thing and just offer you refund.

In other words, don't rely on Amazon (or even Ebay) to help you much if there is a delivery issue.

Don't get me wrong, Amazon delivery speed when things are working are excellent. I got most of my stuffs within time frame or sometimes even earlier (quickest is 1 day) but when vendors don't do the right thing, things will go wrong really quickly.

  • You called Amazon, but you didn't call Auspost?

    • I will call Auspost in the morning to find out what happened.

      • Lol yeah that's kinda important to talk to the people in charge of your parcel…

        • Yeah I agree. I just found out 2 hours ago from Amazon that they treated my package as "lost". Hence why I am not that happy as I was still expecting the package would be delivered.

I guess I won't get a straight answer.. like we will get back to you.. etc.

  • Just be at your supermarket when they open in the morning and get a refund.

    • I bought it from Amazon.
The issue is that I can't get any toilet rolls at any supermarkets in my area.

They all get stock nightly unless you're in a special remote area or something?

      • Most Aldi stores get theirs in overnight, and open at 8:30 in the morning. Might be worthwhile getting to a store at 7:30 (if there is one near you)AM. Just remember Aldi Toilet Rolls are made in Australia by …..? Either Sorbent or Quilton.

As per @Mechz below, #colesworth & some Aldi stores get theirs during the course of the day.

Use the newspaper or a hose.

    • Clog the toilet and you're stuffed.

I mean the toilet is stuffed.

I'd give it another few days. Chances are it will still be delivered.

    • Yeah, this. My parcel was also deemed lost from AusPost (as it took far too long to deliver from a suburb 20km from Sydney CBD to a suburb 2km from Sydney CBD, but showed up eventually

Wow, I really had a feeling this would happen.

    Crazy

Why do you need 96 rolls of toilet paper? You're part of the problem that's creating the current supply issue. Buy what you need, not what you need for the next 6 months.

    • maybe OP has 6 kids?
or it's a collective order with other family members?
      who knows.
don't be too judgmental without knowing the full picture.

You would be a fool not to spend $260 on many more toilet roles than you need, right now, when they are trading at the highest price in history.

Parcels not progressing for days is the new norm for Australia Post. It's standard.

    • You might be right. Amazon call centre staff mentioned that it is assumed lost, that's why I have the same assumption. They were about to give me a refund.

  • Also, try food wholesalers/party goods suppliers, that do catering in your area (or supply restaurants). Hopefully they sell direct to the public.

You paid almost 3 dollars for a roll of toilet paper?

  • Holy sh1t $260 for toilet papers?!

  • My Amazon package was delayed by Australia Post for a few days - I got it in the end though.

What timeframes are we talking about here for your order, posting and updates etc? Gone are the days when you could get a parcel/letter in 2 days for regular post, and then add to that weekend and public holidays (at least for Victoria recently).

The last time I ordered Quilton rolls from Amazon was pre Corona-toilet craze and it still took over week to get to me - it may be that large parcels are handled differently with Aust Post.

    • It was due to arrive last Thursday and it was postponed until Friday last week.
Then I contacted Amazon last night, he said it was considered "lost" because there were no activities for 4-5 days. Then, I wrote to this forum for an advice :)

    • it may be that large parcels are handled differently with Aust Post.

They wipe their arse with it first. 😂

Auspost are useless, I'd take the refund and wait for them to rock up tomorrow.

  • have you check at the truck driver's home?
most likely the TP ended up at the driver's house.

    • Except amazon box everything they ship.
No way the postie knew what was in the box.

  • Are your replacement rolls made out of organic trees or what?? That's a very high cost if that's the actual value of the replacement. If you paid a lot less then.. just take that?!
