Looking at the ending of season 4 it’s likely that it’s the last season.
@TimApple: Moffat and Gatiss (show creators) have plotted a season 5… however if/when it will actually be produced remains to be seen. Cumberbatch and Freeman both have very conflicting schedules, and the creators have other works too.
Never say never…. If it does happen, it might be a few years though :(
