    Well I guess it's time

Nope for me. Going to wait till it's under $20.

      • You'll kind of defeat the purpose then unless you've got friends you can play with. This game thrives on a coop experience, and they'll only drop to that price once the playerbase is so low you want find players to work with.

        • There are still roughly 5k players on Borderlands 2. If Borderlands 3 has the same staying power, even waiting till Summer/Christmas sales for a bigger discount is worth it (to me). Also 2 more DLCs yet to be revealed and reviewed.

        • I love me some Borderlands & have yet to play it co-op once. Admittedly the run-throughs to NG+ do get a bit dull the 3rd time around & slag weapons are near useless.
If I ever decide to play with other people there's the patient gamers and playdate subreddits that are full of potential co-op partners.

          • @BinaryPirate: Borderlands is great and if you're a diehard fan who enjoys it enough to play solo, in all likelyhood you've already bought it. The only reason I have kept playing after endgame was to play with friends.

But don't forget that over half the games fun is not in the campaign - there are other (coop only) gamemodes you're missing out on.

            • @Kill Joy: To each their own. I don't play well with others. Also, I haven't bought it yet. A while back I learned not to buy most games until the GOTY version is released. Ironically it was BL2 that taught me. Currently I'm working my way back to NG+ so I can finally get around to the Tiny Tina expansion, plus the Battle for Whatsits…. then the Pre-Sequel and then BL3 in a few more months.

              • @BinaryPirate: I think you completely glazed over my point which was BL3, unlike all borderlands before it, has a bunch of new modes specifically design for coop. If you take those away. this is no more than a DLC for BL2 and i wouldnt even buy it at $20.

                • @Kill Joy: Yeah, I'm totally ok with it being more of BL2, itself just more of BL. I did glaze over. I feel like you're trying to sell me something I've already said is not very important to me at all.

        • +2

Nope. Don't have friends. Only been playing Borderland 1 and 2 in solo mode.

        • I'm always looking for people to play with on BL2 and Pre-sequel! Add me - friedmaki

  • Thanks OP, finally pulled the trigger and purchased the super bundle.

I'd rather pay just a tad more than buy it on Epic. Thanks OP!

Why the (profanity) would you want it on epic??? They are a gigantic piece of shit with the worst customer support I've ever seen

      • I think he means he'd rather pay a tad more than (to) buy it on Epic, but little does he know it's cheaper on Steam! :) (Epic prices are in USD)

        • You're almost spot on. I think @ryanwe overreacted just a tad when he mistook my original meaning.

I was however referncing this part:

Not the lowest it has been but still a pretty good deal.

I have a Russian Steam account and it's only $21 so that's a win in my book.

          • @NeggerOfDeals: Never an overreaction, (profanity) epic and everything about them.

      • You should read my comment aloud and see where you went wrong.

        • Hahahah yeah my brain instantly read "than" as and sorry about that

So 12 months exclusive on Epic is now shorten to 7 months? Clearly it didn't work as Epic thought it would be.

    • +3

13th September 2019 to 14th March 2020 is six months.

Epic's deal was always for six months exclusivity and that's what's happened.

      • -2

        Epic deal was 12 months.
Metro Exodus Feb 19 on Epic and Feb 20 on Steam.
The Outer World Oct 19 on Epic. Not coming out on Steam next month.
Control Aug 19 on Epic, Aug 20 on Steam.

It had always been 12 months.

        • +2

Was always 6 months, not all exclusives are 12.

          https://press-start.com.au/news/pcmac/2019/04/03/borderlands…

But to be fair, it was supposed to be released on Steam in April. So they did bring forward the release to March.

          • @FuRyZ: Maybe each title has different exclusivity period then. Still something is not working when they brought forward the Steam release, fairly sure Epic isn't happy about such things with all the dollars they cough out to beat Steam.

            • @Bigboomboom:

Maybe each title has different exclusivity period then.

Epic's exclusivity comes from individual contracts that they sign with the publishers. It's clear that 2K Games signed a contract with Epic not to sell Borderlands on any other PC platform for a period of six months in return for a big pile of money. Epic may have requested 12 month exclusivity, but it can't happen unless the publisher agrees to sign a contract.

Still something is not working when they brought forward the Steam release

They didn't bring forward the Steam release. It's right on schedule at six months after the initial release date.

@trongy: Dude, this guy is obviously delusional. You have given him a credible source yet he still argues the point. Leave him be.

      • Only the Borderlands 3 deal was 6 months.

  • +3

Pretty happy in the end, waiting for it to arrive on Steam fixed a lot of the initial bugs and its now heavily discounted.

Now I get to buy it on the platform I want for a great price.

From now on we can refer to Epic exclusives as beta testing.

  • I'll wait until the complete edition is under $15 like I did with the other 3 games, especially since reviews seem to say that it's pretty much just Borderlands 2 again

    • Isn't every sequel just more of the preceding game, but with a visually different different setting, slightly amended mechanics and a similar cast?

I've owned the game on Epic Store for awhile since I got a copy for free by buying a Ryzen 3000 series CPU last year as part of a promotion AMD did. The game runs well, and plays well. I didn't have any qualms with it, but I played about 2 hours before uninstalled it and Epic Store because I don't like Epic Store.
After seeing this deal, 50% off the base game on Steam, and 50% off Super Deluxe Edition which includes the Season Pass, it was a no brainer buy for me.

It is a great game that was muddied by being Epic Exclusive and by stupid company figures who don't know when to keep quiet sometimes (Randy). I've heard the first DLC, that Moxxis Casino thing, is actually pretty good. Also, the 2nd DLC is next week with 2 more DLCs later down the line.

I think Super Deluxe or just the Base game is definitely worth it now. Also the game can be preloaded. Also a word of warning, if you buy the "Borderlands Collection" - you only get Borderlands 3 Base game and NOT Super Deluxe or normal Deluxe, so it won't have BL3s Season Pass which is kinda a really stupid move or oversight.

These are my thoughts, take them as you will. As usual, Steam has a full refund policy which for Australians is unlimited refunds unlike other countries as long as you meet the conditions (Less than 2 week of purchase, less than 2 hours played)

    • Bought the Super Deluxe edition before reading this OzBargain post. Worth it, I'd say. I agree with you on this one.
