Sydney 5* Hilton: $161 Per Night in King Room, Weekend $324, Includes Christmas Weekend @ Beat That Flight

130

Maybe it's a lack of travellers (Thanks Covid-19), but Sydney Hilton has an amazing price on King Rooms (normally $528-$564 apparently), during the holiday season (but not NYE, sadly).

Located in Sydney's business district, the Hilton Sydney hotel is next to the Queen Victoria Building which combines Romanesque architecture with inspired boutique shopping. The iconic Sydney Opera house is just a short walk from the hotel, and Darling Harbor offers a range of restaurants, shops and attractions.

Example dates (all $324 for two nights):

Dec 18 to Dec 20

Dec 25 to Dec 27

Jan 8 to Jan 10

Note for one night, you can still get $161, for example, January 8th.

and other dates, just try the ones that work for you.

Do they offer real actual Foxtel, or fake Foxtel? Back in 2013 I stayed in a Hilton here in Australia which claimed they had "Foxtel" and it turned out to be 2 channels of entertainment, 2 news channels, and 3 sports channels (a whopping 7 channels in total). And all in glorious 240p video quality that made old analog FTA TV look like HD. Any hotel claiming to be 5 stars should offer the complete package.

A standard King room is normally around $180-200 a night so this a decent deal. The exec rooms have been renovated and are really nice, but the standard rooms (which is what this is) are still the older config. The new Curio is on sale too at $175 a night, that be nice to stay at.

    • Got a night there coming up, I'm gonna try and get upgraded to executive room as I'm a diamond member. Heard they are extremely stingy with the upgrades though.

      • I used to get upgrade every single time and I’m gold but two weeks ago no more upgrades cause the new lounge was full

        • Did u ever get a suite?

@harthagan: A few years back I used to be a regular at the Hilton Sydney. It's a great hotel. I was a diamond Honors member. I got the relaxation suite 3 or 4 times. That was usually when I checked in late and had an early start the next day so it was wasted.

Almost without fail I got upgraded from the guest room plus to an executive room. A couple of times I was given drinks vouchers because an upgrade wasn't available.

I've only stayed there a few times in the last couple of years and the upgrades have been a bit more hit and miss. That's probably more to do with dropping to gold.

@skwashd: It's always like that. You get these things when u least need them haha

            @harthagan: Never got a suite

            • @UberIsCool: Thanks for intel guys. From what I've read on flyer talk (and other places) I'll be happy with anything I get haha. Esp. given that it's a Friday night!

              • @harthagan: When you say 'try', you are entitled to executive lounge access all the time as a Diamond Member, so why you may not get a room upgrade per se, you will get lounge access. Oh btw, use the Hilton website, as i dont think member benefits can be used on sites like Agoda, Booking.com etc

                • @UberIsCool: Oh yeah the lounge and the buffet breakfast are the main benefits I appreciate. Any possible room upgrade would be a very unexpected bonus haha

Drop the price more or leave your rooms empty, Hilton. Chinese aren’t coming back anytime soon.
