Woolworths Online Delivery Fee

Hello,

I'm currently trying to place an order for sometime this week and noticed that all timeslots regardless of day and time is flat $15 fee which it previously was dependent on value of the trolley. Just curious if anyone here has had groceries delivered this week and is this the case?
It says on the website that its unusually busy and timeslots are being filled quicker than usual. But at the same time has delivery fee breakdown to be based on trolley value.

Also for click and collect for perishable items are they stored in fridge until you come to pick them up?
Have found sometimes for delivery some items that are meant to be refridgerated are not particularly cold.

The delivery cost is probably based on demand, so normally less in-demand delivery times (e.g. daytime) might be cheaper. But now due to coronavirus, all the timeslots likely have maxed out demand, and so the delivery costs are also maxed out for them.

As for click and collect, yes, they remain in the fridge/freezer until you pick up, and they then get it for you when you turn up.

  • I did an online order last night because I don't particularly feel like braving the supermarket right now and my delivery fee was initially $15 but then reduced to free because I had to get a fair few things.

20 x 18 roll jumbo packs of toilet paper will do that I guess.

      • Didn't need to get any actually. It's just my regular shop - I just didn't want to go instore and deal with all of the hoarders lol.

  • For pick-ups, you would have a defined time window to collect your items. You will receive a notification, normally a couple of minutes before the established time.
My understanding is that they have people in the supermarket arranging orders based on pickup times.

You may also send a notification 15 minutes before you arrive so they can get the stuff out of the refrigerated area and ready for you

  • I ordered on Monday for delivery Thursday. Free delivery for $100+. I did notice time slots were very limited.

  • OP: Why don't you push out your delivery until you get a free timeslot?

  • I do click & collect. It's good because you get a text message just before your time slot and you can select I'm here when you're 5 minutes away. So when you arrive it's ready.

Be prepared to have items refunded because items are always out of stock.
