Fitbit Charge 3 or Inspire HR - Which One?

Decided to grab a fitbit today and had planned to get the inspire hr, goodguys catalog has it on offer from $158 down to $99. It was on there site last night but could not be ordered online and just instore only, ebay had three on there page there. The link no longer works since this morning cant be found and the ones available on ebay of which was 3 was not longer there.
So was set out to match with another store and manager was happy to match but asked why i wanted it as the charge 3 was currently same price.
Not knowing much about them i asked are they all same age is the inspire a newer model he said they are all current range.
And looking at the features he did say charge had couple more blah blah.
Looking at them on display i found that the charge 3 did look better and more so for a guy where inspire maybe better suited to lady.

But obviously that's down to preference im just curious when actually the inspire hr was available in australia compared to charge 3?

Obviously when these came out they both was probably more in price but i just felt at time guy was maybe panning me off with older model ie charge 3?

Obviously comparing what charge 3 used to cost with retailers very old price still avertised and current offer it was great deal, but then other reailers are all same price.

Where as the inspire hr i dont see anyone as low as $99 for that model.
I was still on the fence as to what to get having never had one before or used one i j just went for the charge 3.

Looking up reviews about it on youtube not sure how old review vids are but charge 3 had edge but also if price was a factor then inspire hr.
But as the charge 3 is $99 and inspire hr was same if price matched i was at time not sure.

What's your thoughts on the two devices,i do think or feel i was maybe pulled away from the inspire hr to buy i think an older model charge 3. But i beleive even though it maybe older it might still be a better buy.

Im thinking inspire came out 2019 and charge 3 2018?

Comments

  • I love my Charge 3 & I think it is a better buy as it has more features, some of which aren't activated yet anyhow, the one and only disadvantage is that for people with small arms/hands it may look chunky. I think the Charge 3 was very late 2018 release.

It's overall a very accurate device & works flawlessly.

    • And when did inspire hr come out?
Am now hearing google took over fitbit so im now worried what i just got will no longer work soon.

      • I just googled inspire hr and it was March 2019.

Google purchased Fitbit because the Fitbit software & experience is something Google realised was very advanced. I wouldn't be worried about Google stopping the functionality of your Fitbit, not for another 4 or 5 years, by that stage it will be well & truly time for a new one.

I am sure you'll love it, before I fell off the wagon I would try and beat my steps every day.

      • It's a Fitbit device so practically guaranteed to break within two years anyway. They make garbage designed to get you hooked on their ecosystem (since you can't access your history without an active device) so you keep buying new products regularly.

        • Their customer service was ok I thought. My Fitbit's rubber bits were peeling off and exposing the main unit. I knew it was out of warranty, and contacted them to ask if I could ignore the peel and should I worry about water damage. They didn't, or couldn't, answer that but let me have a replacement unit in the end.

Their Android app drives me crazy though. With every update, I have to pray my Fitbit can still connect

  • I heard these screens can get scratched easy and was thinking maybe a screen protector for the charge 3. But that screen is so small like a watch and dont see many lol putting a screen p protector on watches. I can understand phones i have one on mine.
But what stores sell these it seems couple of stores sell same ones and not that great. Whats the better one to use but also cheap as om sure market is full of cheap and nasty ones.
