Get eSafety check (pink slip) before registration renewal in the mail?

If for example my registration expires in June and I receive my rego renewal in the mail in May, am I able to get an eSafety check (pink slip) with my previous registration paper in say January?

Transport for NSW state that eSafety checks (pink slips) are valid for 6 months but I'm not sure if you need to wait for the new rego renewal slip in the mail.

You do not need the new rego papers to get esafety check. Valid 6 months for rego in NSW

    • Awesome.

Will start doing all the cars in my house at the same time!

      Thanks.

Why would you need to do that? You still have to drive down do the rego check for each car.

Or have you found a dodgy bros who will just write them all out at the same time? 😀

BTW if cars are less than 5 years old no pink slip required

        • It's easier doing three cars in one lot rather than going each time to the mechanic over a period of 3 months (All three car registrations expires within a period of 3 months).

@Petronas: Your mechanic may want to see the rego papers though, just check first. You can take the current one without waiting for the renewal notice.

@Euphemistic: I got an esafety check the other week, no rego papers needed. It was all uploaded into the Service NSW system electronically.
