Hi OzBargain Community - just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a shipping company to move from London back to Sydney? Considering SevenSeas MoveCube but anyone’s experience of other operators would be great. Would be a 2 bedroom apartment, no white goods, furniture included.

I used SevenSeas Movecube UK to Melbourne. They were excellent and I highly recommend them.
Edit: Unless your furniture is "special" I wouldn't bother bringing it, I didn't and thank goodness I didn't waste money doing so. In fact, I wouldn't have brought anything other than personal treasures if I had paid more attention to future shopping needs during recent holiday visits. So much is readily available here now - it was very different when I first lived in Australia decades ago and then it might have been worth bringing everything with you.
Second your advice. Modern furniture is so badly made. Considering the long ship journey, the heat might get it some discoloration. I shipped a few boxes and even lined it with plastic to be air tight and I had some slight damage to a few items (not furniture)

Why? Sell it and buy new here. But of course if you're not paying then that changes lots of things.
Also the UK is the same voltage etc, so appliances will work here. Just need to get the plug changed or use an adapter. But the same as furniture, unless its a really worth keeping, just sell it and buy new.

Voltage is the same (somewhere between 220 & 240) but the UK is 13 amps as opposed to 10 amps here. It wont affect most appliances, but you need to be careful with high draw appliances such as kettles, hair dryers etc.. Check that wattage is 2400 or less and you'll be ok.
Thats true….. Amps are a bit higher on the bigger draw things, so yes leave the heaters, kettles, hair straighteners back in the UK.
I used SevenSeas move cube, and all arrived safe and sound, highly recommend it. I did not move any furniture as the sizes are different.
Surely cheaper to just sell the furniture and buy new stuff here?
