Coronavirus Tracking App

Hi calling out to the makers of the fantastic eleven 7 apps. Would you be able to spend time to develop an app similar to that in China or Korea where we can track and update by GPS areas where there have been verified cases of Covid-19. It will be very useful for people to see which areas are affected and closed for cleaning.

For example my local Target Carindale Westfield in brisbane was closed over the weekend for COVID19 case and cleaning. Many locals could have avoided that area if they had known about it on an app. Also we have had a KFC and daycare with covid19 cases closed.

this app can over time aggregate data on hotspots for disease spread and keep people safe and away from hotspot areas.

I have some basic web programming knowledge but no experience with apps.
cheers.

And if it's even so much as a day behind in the stats, and you go to an infected area, then what?

Jees there's simple ways to avoid infection without relying on someone else's possibly incorrect data

  • Maybe just check the social media sites of the places you're going before you leave. It's not rocket science.

  • What would the map show though? Their usual place of residence? Where they've been?

If the former, they are most likely in self-isolation now doing no harm to anyone. If the latter, that info is pretty hard to obtain.

Stfu?… Haha nice. I agree with you, we need some sort of system to track all australians, like china social credit system.

    • Negged for unwarranted abuse.

  • I think if you have a app showing the trail of known cases would be very useful . OP is passionate in the idea and those are normally the ones that get far .

    • When you say trail, do you mean where those people who have it have been, where they live, or something like live tracking so everyone can know their every step?

Yeah, maybe we could beg the government to forcibly inject everyone with some kind of trackable RFID chip?

Doesn't have to be embedded, just a stick-on patch on the forehead that monitors body temp. We'll call it the "Dutton Button".

Imagine if someone went to an area that the app said was clean and they ended up sick, or worse, would they be able to sue the apps developer for incorrect data?

    • "I'm suing the government and ABS for letting my family die in the car I set up because there was no cases of it happening in this suburb before! Such incorrect data!"

Be careful with coronavirus apps, there's at least one that came with ransom malware.

You're better off asking the whirlpool nerd community.

not what you are wanting exactly as its not based for where a case was 1st seen etc, but
just go here, you can set your phone to either computer or phone view.

    edit.
also, I was in an area over the w/e that had a confirmed case, I could have put off my trip to that area if I had of known.

Spread more panic by informing people of a area thats been cleaned, no point.

    • Thanks to OP and Chris Topher :)

    • All points shown on the map are based on geographic centroids, and are not representative of a specific address, building or any location at a spatial scale finer than a city.
