[Android, iOS] Free - Kingdom Rush Frontiers (Was $3.19) | Kingdom Rush Origins (Was $4.69) @ Google Play & iTunes

2340

This popular game is free again for a limited time.

Kingdom Rush Origins -

Kingdom Rush Frontiers

The world's most devilishly addictive defense game is back - welcome to Kingdom Rush: Frontiers!

Bigger and badder than ever before, Kingdom Rush: Frontiers is a whole new level of the furiously fast, enchantingly charming gameplay that made the original title an award-winning hit. Tap your troops through an epic (mis)adventure as you defend exotic lands from dragons, man-eating plants, and ghastly denizens of the underworld -all with flashy new towers, levels, heroes, and more goodies to help you crush your foes to a pulp. (Don't worry, we've still got all the good ol' stuff from the last game, too. It's vintage now.)

    Great games thank you OP

The original was great but I always felt the sequels were unfairly difficult, pushing you to spend money.

If you’re on iPad, the “HD” versions are free too. KR Origins HD and KR Frontiers HD

    • are the game progress/save sync between the HD and non-HD apps? ie if i play on my mobile then can I resume the progress from my ipad on HD version of the game?

      • Between devices (ios to android) no, not sure if on same os though.

  • Are there still ads and spending etc?

I've had them a while back - no, they don't have ads.

They do however, have paid heroes in the game - where the cooler/more OP(?) heroes are locked behind a paywall, which can be pretty expensive if one buys all of them. You can beat the game using the free heroes if you grind enough to upgrade everything.

There's also 'gem' in-game to buy consumables that make missions easier - this you can grind by killing enemies or paying for it.

Game is pretty fun and some levels are very interesting. I don't regret purchasing them - I would regret purchasing the additional heroes…

      • But Play Store says they have ads?

        • You're right, there are one can view to get 100 of those 'gems' - which I've not used before.

I was thinking more of pop-ups to buy stuff which they previously did not have - until I opened the game up today promoting a discount on the purchasable heroes. Must be trying to get new users to buy them since they did give out the game for free.

It sounds like the game is bad because it's a platform for further purchases. How this works is the developer purposefully makes the game bad to encourage the player to cough up more money using predatory mechanics designed to entrap whales as the industry calls them.

Why support a developer that is ruining gaming for greed by making the game bad?

Rather than a developer making games without predatory transactions.

      • No, heroes totally optional and not necessary. Fun to play new characters on replay. I've only bought a few over the 4 games I have played. But I've finished all of them without the need to buy first/

Played them all from that developer. Iron Marines is my favourite as its sci fi and a bit better story. It's basically mobile Starcraft lite. Free at the moment but I think that's the usual price.

    • I'm seeing Iron Marines at $4.69? Has it ever been free? I've been wanting to play it since forever.

Buy the game and support the developer! Price of a coffee for hours of fun!

        • +2

Ah maybe it doesn't show a price because I bought it. I bought one hero too as I got a good few hours of gameplay from it 😁

        • +1

You just made me purchase it :) It was just the ozbargainer spirit within that has been delaying me.
Probably well worth it now that I've got plenty of times to kill with every activity around discouraged/cancelled.

If some levels are proving a bit too difficult, then there are walkrthrough videos on youtube like this guy's.

  • Thanks Op
