Yeah, lets hope not like the usual hide-n-seek banner deal that "Gone in 2 seconds"

    • This. Great deal but will certainly be ruined if they don't have the stock to accommodate.

      • Lets see how fast Doom sells 300 copies vs animal crossing.

So far animal crossing - 1 minute and 15 seconds.

        • Doooooooom still there, only 102 sold till now.

  • +1

I might give it a go at that price, especially spending so much time at home I was waiting for a deal or a new game

  • +12

    Amazon should know this

    • Agreed, already pre-ordered from Amazon AU.

      • +1

Very interesting to see if they do. I don't think they normally match eBay Plus, but with Amazon, you never know ;)

        • I'm assuming Doom Eternal is just for XB1, PS4 and PC, as Switch Version doesn't have a release date.

    • +3

      Come through for us Amazon!

    • Hopefully they compete with it. But looking at their pre-order price guarantee any sales that are part of a membership program are exempt from the guarantee match so no guarantees there

  • Wasn't gonna get AC.. But at that price….

  • +3

    Amazon ya better price match

  • damn that's early

  • +9

Based on past eBay Plus Deals for games, seller will most likely be The Gamesmen

    Note: Just speculations.

    • +2

      You were right : )
      Thank you!

    • +2

      Thank you!

    • +2

      Thank You.

    • -1

      Doom link..? :)

  • Where is amazon…

  • +2

Dilemma. This is my most anticipated game for 2020 and was going to get it digitally on eshop at RRP so I can play it straight away. Do I hand in my Ozbargain card? I don't want to wait till next Monday.

    • +3

I'm going digitally, not because I want to play it straight away, but because Animal Crossing is game I'll want to play for a bit everyday, game vouchers + discounted eShop cards + My Nintendo gold points helps the price not be as bad.

      • how hard is it to change cart? first world problems.

        • +3

Not difficult, but paying $8/9 more for the added convenience isn't that bad.

          • +1

@sss333: I've done the same as you and I know I won't regret it because I still play New Leaf to this day haha.

    • +4

I'm going digital with Animal crossing because it's a game I'll be playing a little everyday and I don't want to fiddle around with a game cart to switch it out constantly. Doom though, might grab that one.

      • No need to install if you have a cart.

    • -8

If you have serious trouble waiting, you could always go grab a copy from EB and return it once your eBay copy arrives.

      • +11

Naa, I won't be that guy. It sucks to be on the receiving end for the next customer that pays full price for a "New" even when its not.

Will cancel my pre-order at the shops and buy it at the eshop.

Edit: did not neg you but its not something I would do even though I don't agree that games returned during the trial should be sold as "new".

        • +1

You could just buy this deal and pick up your EB copy and then return the sealed brand new eBay copy to EB Games when it arrives. You end up paying the cheaper price and the next person gets a sealed copy of the game.

          • @XVX: That's true, but I am lying for returning a product that they didn't sell. If there is any issue with the eBay copy (extremely unlikely), I am at fault and I am just going to suck it up and pay $79.99 on the eShop.

It's a game that I have been waiting since Wii U days and been following every news and watched the direct live. It is the only game I am buying at RRP since BotW and Mario Odyssey and I haven't been excited for a game since those two games.

      • +7

What a trash thing to do

      • +2

You should delete your account. no one should do this.

        • -4

          You've never EB rented?

          • +2

            @matictac: What a scum.

            • @Nivlac: Haven't done it in a long, long time, but I'll admit it's something I did a lot in high school.

Edit: Actually I should say I haven't done this exact thing, but I've definitely made good use of EB's return policy.

    • Why can't you just pick up in store? Then you can resell as well and make some money back?

      • +1

I don't resell my games unless it's terrible. Most games, I go for physical but given the nature of the game where I would spend 20-30 minutes everyday in the long term, its more convenient to have it digitally.

  • Any idea if doom eternal for PC is physical or digital copy? I imagine physical copies would be very unlikely but would like to make sure.

    • +2

Most likely a digital redemption code.

    • JB website says they are selling a box with a key in it.

    • Either way you're getting a Bethesda Launcher key. Whether it's a case with a piece of paper inside, or a digital code sent to your email.

      • Any chance it's a steam key? Or is it going to be linked to Bethesda launcher regardless like some of the Uplay games on steam?

        • +1

As I understand it. Even on steam it is linked the the Bethesda launcher.

        • +2

The only way to get a Steam key for DOOM AFAIK, is to buy it directly from Steam. Even sites like Green Man Gaming are providing Bethesda Launcher keys. And considering you're paying literally double the price on Steam, I don't think it's worth it.
As for your second question, I haven't purchased a Bethesda game on Steam since Fallout 4, but the store page on Steam does mention it requires the linking of a Bethesda account.

      • +2

Dammit, this has made me think twice about purchasing.
Why does every company their own game launcher?

        • Because the publisher gets to keep more money obviously.

Meanwhile, you don't have to buy. It will almost certainly get cracked quickly. But you'll miss out on the multiplayer invasion part of the game which I think might be the most interesting new element.

          • @ozbjunkie: They haven't cracked any new games for a while yet so I wouldn't expect a crack soon

  • +1

Is Doom Eternal purchased here likely to come with that copy of Doom 64?

    • That's a good point. I don't think I'll cancel my Amazon pre-order just in case. If the code is in the box then the ebay deal should get it.

  • Hopefully eBay starts doing this with other games in the future.

  • Was planning on buying doom eternal anyway, but at $39 I'm actually happy to pay.

  • Doooooooom

  • Oh wtf I JUST placed an order for Animal Crossing through another Ebay store. What are the chances. Hopefully I can cancel it.

    • 0 or if the seller is ok to come to the party… just ask…

      • Hm I requested to cancel but just saw only 300 units available tomorrow. See how it goes.

        • Dont cancel it. Think of all the jobless or “work at home due to virus” gamers sitting for this ebay deal. No way I would land on 1 out of 300.

          • @Jay Nomad: Perhaps you are right, only 20 bucks difference anyway.

  • What…..i just cancelled my ebay plus yesterday.

    • Yeah mine ran out a couple of days back

  • +1

Also praying for Amazon to come through

    • Same. I asked. The answer was no

      • Not available on amazon anymore for pc

  • +7

Only 300 units of Animal Crossing ?, this deal should last about 3 seconds :(

  • I just preordered via Amazon today, maybe I can get it here instead.

  • +1

since when did ebay [directly] stock items?

  • Unbelievable! my eBay Plus just expired a couple of days ago!
I wanted to get Doom. Amazon didn't price match :/

    • just make another account and spin up another free trial lol?

      • Oh I tried!

        I received this message:
"Sorry, you're ineligible for this offer due to lack of purchase history. You can still unlock a range of exclusive offers & free delivery on millions of Plus items if you join eBay Plus."

        • +1

Weird I’ve done it 5 times now

          • @Pulseless: Okay weird again. This time it worked! Thanks 😁

  • +1

If it goes by the other deals it will be sold out before its even live..

  • (profanity), that's good for Doom.

But I know Doom 64 is only for preorders, and assuming it follows the same price scheme as the other Doom re-releases, it'd be about 7.50. Factor in I'm paying for my copy of Doom with various gift cards and shit, I can live with the 69 I'll be paying, including D64, to not have to bother with eBay Plus.

But (profanity) me, that's a deal. Jump on it if you can, game looks fantastic.

  • I want Doom but probably wouldn't be playing it for a few weeks at least. Is there any chance the price drops in a few weeks or should I just preorder.

Note: I am not an eBay plus member and so can't take advantage of this offer.

  • +3

Pardon the ignorance but what is Animal Crossing exactly? Why the hype? I'm just new to Switch. Playing BOTW and loving it. In fact I think it's the first Zelda game I've played since the NES one!

    • -7

Animal Crossing is a game that has way more hype than the game should have. It's a great game…but somehow got elevated to high levels through a combo of great marketing, memes and a player base that needed to justify why they were playing such a game by championing the shit out of it.

For the game itself, think Stardew Valley with less focus on farming and more focus on everything else but crank the cuteness to 12 and add that Nintendo flare. Fantasy life simulation would be an adept 3 word description.

      Edit for spelling

      • Yeh cool thanks for that. Maybe not for me but I'm guessing my wife would be keen on something like this :)

      • Not sure why you got downvoted, but I agree your description completely even as a AC fan.

It is definitely not a game for everyone and it is a very slow paced game. I enjoyed the previous games on DS and 3DS and it's a game to play up to relax. Too many people are caught up by the hype and many people will be very disappointed when they pick it up and find that it's not what they expected and put the game down after less than 5 hours of gameplay.

      • -6

Thanks but didn't bother watching the clip. When I saw screenshots I thought, 'isn't this just like farm story on the phone I played all those years ago?!?!'

        • Ahaha, I never really thought of that.

Animal crossing is a very relaxing, very chill, very charming game. Çlosest thing to it in terms of the vibe might be Harvest Moon/ Stardew Valley.

        • What’s with all the negs? In my defense it’s an 18min video plus I’d decided from Ryugen’s comment that I wasn’t going to get it anyway…

    • +1

The main appeal is that it runs in real world time. Same days and same time in game and real life. It's made to be played 30~ minutes a day to visit your town, interact with your villagers, etc. Not a particularly hardcore game but it has a tonne of depth to it and requires considerable dedication (by playing nearly every day). I mostly play it because it's relaxing but it can get a bit boring after a while. No idea what has changed in the Switch version but it looks good.

      • Are you able to progress by simply playing more or is there a limit on how much you can do per day?

        • theres no limit to how much you can do per day

  • link to Eternal PC please

  • +12

    Promo code PCW11.

    • How did you find this out?

      • +2

it's showing up in the ebay app where the ebay plus promo banner is on the home screen.

    • This helped a lot, thanks :)

    • Thank You.

  • +2

Tried to get Amazon to price match this morning. They didn't want a bar of it lol.

I asked the request to be passed to the feedback team… Who knows, fingers crossed. If enough of us do this, anything could happen.

  • Does ps4 pro version support keyboard and mouse?

    • Yes, depends on the game

      • I mean doom Eternal
