Looking for a Xiaomi Phone Recommendation

I currently have a Xiaomi Mi A2 which I'm really happy with but unfortunately the SIM card slots have stopped working. I've currently got one of the dual slots working but I need both slots and I'm worried that both slots will fail soon and I'll be left without a phone.

So I'm looking for a Xiaomi phone recommendation. I want something with dual SIM card slots, large screen and a good back camera. Preferably without a notch but I'll probably have to compromise on this, I guess?

Thanks for any suggestions!

  • I've just seen that the A3 is out now. Does anyone know if the camera on this phone is significantly better than the A2? Or any other good reasons to upgrade? I don't like the notch but could probably get used to it.

I'm also considering just buying another A2, if I can find one cheap enough. I'm guessing that trying to get this phone repaired will probably cost about the same as buying a new phone.

  • I've got an MI 9 SE and love it.

    Seems to fit your requirements.

have a look around on xda forums about the problem, you might find a fix, as it could be software related.

Otherwise we have a redmi note 8 pro (redmi is a branch of xiaomi) and it has been a fantastic upgrade.

  • Mi 9 PRO
no holes in screen, full screen. amazing phone. got mine for 500 last year, really nice high spec phone.

  • Pocophone F1.
There is a setting to hide the notch now.

I bought a Mi 9T pro in January for $512 for myself also bought a Mi A3 for a nephew for xmas for $225 the Mi A3 seemed to work well 48mp main camera worked a treat - note that it ships with Google Android One - no xiaomi bloat. I guess it will come down to what is available and how much you want to spend with the current supply chain problems. Bought both through tobydeals HK, Currently Mi A3 can be had for $259 4/64 or a redmi note 8 4/64 for $251 https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_AU/buy/unlocked-cell-phones/x…
