Help Me Find a Stylish Key Ring

I bought a Tile Mate set recently and it occurred to me how bad my crappy faded old plastic key ring with worn out lanyard is looking alongside it. After 15 years with the current one, it's time I buy my first stylish key ring. I thought it would be a 2 minute look at Amazon / eBay to find one but I can't find one I really like.

What nice key rings do others own or plan to buy?

I'm thinking something titanium maybe, needs to be strong without risk of snapping. Some leather ones looked good but weren't strong looking.

I don't need practical tools, no bottle openers (don't drink), no lights etc and no multitools with knives etc as I catch planes :)

Budget, I don't know… $30 ? If it's apparent I have to spend more then so be it.

Hopefully this gets some genuine responses, cheers :)

$30 for a key ring…. Please hand in your OzBargain badge lol.

More (slightly) seriously, my keyrings have always been something related to a hobby or interest of mine for standard ones.

I guess you can go with something fancier and more expensive like Orbitkey:

    • Well played sir

Orbitkey look alright actually, but are a bit pricey. It's given me some ideas though thanks :)

  • Are you talking the ring itself or something purely decorative hanging off it?

    • Both actually. A stronger ring than the the cheapo ones and something decorative. Even though I'm not going for something "practical" I might end up getting a bottle opener one simply because they seem to be the best looking ones lol.

This is getting there… Not exactly what I'm after but just something decent looking hanging off it.

I can't really help with the decorative part as that's very much a personal preference (I have practical stuff, a small titanium torch and Swiss Army Knife Classic model) but I have bought what were supposed to be titanium keyrings on Amazon before and turned out to not be titanium (hint, a magnet won't stick to titanium).

        • Good tip thanks.

I'm now thinking a key "organiser" might be what I really need. I don't want or need one that can handle 10 keys like some I saw, those things are huge. Orbitkey have some good stuff but a little pricey at $49, I'm sure there are similar options for less.

If I have to spend a bit of coin that's okay but I'll expect it to last a good couple of years.

          • @Click_It: I've had a titanium Keysmart for several years. Wasn't sure of the concept at first but can't see myself going back. AFAIK the titanium model isn't available anymore though.

  • this search page from aliexpress.

And minor NSFW, although I'm at work. Just a heads up.

How stylish? I did this recently - wanted something stylish but not outrageous. I looked around for a long time and couldn't figure out what I wanted. Ended up with a designer keyring that cost an arm and a leg and doesn't do much more than a $1 keyring. Guess it's a once-off that will last me for a while. (and yes, Ive spent money on sillier things before!)

lego store and get a.dark.vadar.lego key ring

    feel the force

    • The Lego key rings aren't durable. The printing will fate, any right angles will wear. And cloth elements like Vader's cape will get torn within the month.

How many keys are you putting on it? Are the keys going into your pocket or a bag? Do you want a small light on the keyring?

    • Sorry guys got busy yesterday and couldn't check in.

3 or 4 keys at most, including car key. Plus my tile mate.

        • Actually a key organiser might be what I am looking for… I did look at some before and didn't like them, they looked too chunky but those Orbit Key ones look alright.

@Click_It: You can find them at Top3 shops if you want to see them.

            • @Melb69: Monster Threads as well (there's only one Top 3 shop in Sydney and unless you live north of the bridge, hard to get to). Berkelouw Books (like in Leichhardt) also have them on display
