Boost Mobile: International SMS Not Sending?

Trying to keep a check on my sis in the USA and it just says, "fail".

Previously been fine, have a long history in the phone but now— not sure what's happened?

Is anyone else here on Boost who cannot send international SMS's?

Boost site says to go to Telstra. I tried their chat, which is now unmanned. Their phone support is all isolating…

  • The number needs to be in the correct format in your phones contact list…. e.g 00111USANUMBER

helpful guide here which also applies to SMS

  • Phone number should just be +<country code><ph number>

But sounds like it was working before so that probably isn't the problem

Id try to reboot the phone and check the service centre number in your settings is correct for boost

  • Good luck with that.

Both wife and myself had a problem sending to UK, two separate phones which worked fine before. Came over from lebara which had no issues. Our phones marked the texts as sent, so boost told us it was the receivers issue. We are talking about 10 different numbers in the UK suddenly not receiving

I raised a complaint with Boost. Suggested that just because they think the message was sent, how about tracing it to see where it goes once it hit the telstra servers.
Anyway, switched over to Telstra support. At least got a tech guy to help. Said the same thing, message was sent, check with receiver.

Anyway, I did get somebody to check in the UK. Their network tech guys could find no record on their network of any message at the time of my sending (was on the phone at the same time)
That's where it stopped. Threatened Boost and Tesltra with the usual reporting to ombudsman etc.

    Escalated the complaint.
Asked for compo, based on miss-sold product. Nothing doing. Offered to refund unused part if I switched to another provider (which I threatened to do)

Finally - about 3 weeks later it started working again !!

    • Failed capitalism (greedy-selfishness). They went outsource, paid the top-tier-holders insanely, and now are crying!?
