Solution to Cars Parked in My Building's Car Park?

So, my building has parking spots, but people visiting the area always park at my buildings spot like free parking making the area very dangerous like a shopping centre car park as strangers roam around.

What are the solutions, make them pay for parking, tow their car away and make them pay for it

Worse thing is, they feel entitled to park anywhere they like

Is there a boom gate? If not consider to install it.

so it sounds like you welcome stranger to park their car at your house, why don't you share your location so we can all park at yours?

  • Talk to your body corp first and see what rules and regulations are in place.

"…park at my buildings spot like free parking making the area very dangerous like a shopping centre car park as strangers roam around…"

I tried putting this into google translate but it failed to detect what language it is. Can anyone help?

It's the ancient and almost forgotten language often known as Double Dutch.

      Noun Slang.
Unintelligible or garbled speech or language:

  • Make em PAY

  • So are the spots assigned to people who own/live in the building? Are the spots marked?

Who cares. Is this really a priority with what’s going on?

If you can't get a close park, it's a long way to carry all of the toilet paper and the boxes of hand sanitiser.
It's dangerous, as carrying said products might obscure your vision of the reckless, random strangers.

If someone parks in your spot, what do you do with your car after arriving home? If you park in someone else's spot, it'll cause a domino effect and piss off your neighbors. If not, park on the street, you have to pay or get a parking fine.

Would you sit in your car and wait? What would your suggestion be?

Except according to OP they're parking in visitors bays

        • no such thing as visitors bay just vacant spots as my neighbours leave for work in the morning

Put up tow away signs that say something like any vehicle not registered with management as a visitor will be towed. Being towed is quite a deterrent.

    • +2

You are not allow to tow people car on private property.

      • -1

You are if you own the property.

        • Not strata building.

Yes if you own the whole building

          • @SnoozeAndLose: In Qld strata have power to remove vehicles parked without permission. Must be different where you live.

Regardless, there's a good chance the sign would deter people.

              @crashloaded: Ok. Not in NSW.

No doubt it will deter people for short time before people realise it is fake.

      • Never knew that, we considered this put up a sign but no one gave a damn.

        • If no one on the committee cares you may as well stop caring too.

Remove their valve stems every time they park there and tape them to the windscreen with a note saying you needed to borrow them for a bit, just like they borrowed your car park.

    • They're parking in visitors bays…

      • nah no visitors bay just residential spots that are empty

  • Vandalism.

  • +1

Leave a polite note on their windshield.

Smear human poop on the cars. Worked for me.

    • never thought of that before, can't wipe the shit away can they, pun intended

    Bikies

  • Tow away sign.
Deflate tyres - check they don’t have a dash cam.
    Block them from exiting.
    Place lockable bollards.
Smear sh1t on windscreen and door handles. It happens.

  • Put up barricades. If they knock them down put up more rigid ones that can't be knocked down, at least without damaging their own cars that is……..

    • use to use a rope, as barricade is too expense but now no one bother putting up the rope after entering/exiting so that sucks
