Further 10% off Imported Craft Beer (e.g. Fonteinen Cuvee Armand & Gaston Oude Geuze $175/Carton)+ Free/$5 Shipping @ Order Beer

Northwood Craft Beer are a craft beer wholesaler and are feeling the crunch with the Covid-19 shutdown of bars. They have a glut of inventory and plenty more on boats about to land. They don't normally sell to the general public as they are a wholesaler but they have just launched a site to sell to us peasants! It is full cartons and kegs only, unfortunately, but it's worth a consideration at this price. Some serious deals if you like craft beer.

www.orderbeer.com.au

They have plenty of great craft beer at fantastic prices. If you order before 01/04/2020, they will take a further 10% off. Shipping is cheap, but (depending where you are) ordering a few cartons is free delivery.

After the 01/04, the 10% discount will not be valid, but even at the non-discounted rate, the beer is VERY good value.

As an example, I've ordered "3 Fonteinen Cuvee Armand & Gaston Oude Geuze" for $175 a carton of 6 x 750ml ($30 a bottle) - It's normally $57-65 at Purvis/Beer Cartel. That's $122 cheaper per carton! Other examples are the Mikkeller Spontaneous fermentation series around $20 a bottle vs $32 elsewhere (375ml).

The site is still launching so it's a little trickier to order. Login to the site (password is yes) and download the PDF. Send them an email and they'll get back to you quickly. They are working on the site apparently, so it should be better going forward. I had no issues ordering and the team were very nice. I should be getting it next-day delivery!

Some of the breweries currently in stock that I like (which could change):

  • 3 FONTEINEN (Belgium) - Fantastic Lambic beers!
  • Mikkeller (Denmark) - Quite a lot including Mikkeller Baghaven Farmhouse Ales
  • Omnipollo (Sweden)
  • Stilwater Artisinal Ale(USA)
  • Anager Bryghus (Denmark)
  • Baird Beer (Japan)
  • Brasserie Trois Dames (Switzerland)
  • Ca'Del Brado (Italy)
  • High Water Brewing (USA)
  • Jackie O's (USA)
  • Lanikai Brewing (Hawaii)
  • Moylan's Brewery (USA) - Great Barleywine (Why not buy a case and sleep off the quarantine)

Plus a few local breweries as well.

The downside is you need to buy a carton. 12 x 750ml Barleywines/Imperial Stouts can add up to some serious $$. So, share some with a friend? Stock up for the winter/quarantine?

[First deal - apologies for any errors!]

Fantastic prices for us peasants? Up to $645 for carton of beer! Yeah, nah.

    • +2

      That doesn't mean it's not a bargain.

Did not say it wasn't. I was just a bit surprised at the price of these beers. I have paid $120 for a carton a few times, but this is a whole new level

          Fair enough.

I'm in the same boat. Occasionally I'll spend similar to you, and maybe $30 on a longneck. Wouldn't spend $600 on a case.

Yes, some can get expensive and ordering a carton does add up. BUT, that still doesn't stop it being more than 40% cheaper in a lot of cases.

There are a few cartons around the $50-60 mark (local stuff) and you can get imported cartons for $140ish. Not bad when you compare it to the local prices.

      • +1

So is it 40% off the listed price? Plus an extra 10%?

        • +1

No, it works out to about 40ish % off retail looking at my calculations.

You get 10% off the list price.

So for the Mikkeller Spontandoublecassis, the list price is $251.34. You'll pay $226.20 and that's $18.85 per 375ml bottle (is a 12 pack). Purvis are selling it for $32.99 a bottle. That means you are getting them for 43% cheaper than you could buy it from Purvis (which was the cheapest I was able to quickly find). without the 10% you are only getting 37% off.

          Hope that makes sense.

what is up with the pricing guys? lol
Several 12 bottle cartons are more expensive than a 50L Keg of beer! Holy smokes…

    • Maybe it's time I invest in a kegerator…..
