Where to Buy a Nintendo Switch Late March / Early April 2020?

So I just want to buy a Nintendo Switch in the next 2 weeks, Normally I'd search for a deal, but happy to pay RRP in these conditions.

There are people price gouging at $600, $700, even over $1000 right now, it's discraceful, but it's also classic supply and demand.

Retailers on the other hand are happy with their margin at RRP, so if there's a store where you've seen it slightly below, at or even only slight above (sub $500), it would be great if you could share it.

Put an email alert on the ones on amazon - I bought there a couple of days ago and arrived today - see https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07VQR11NH - this and the neon pop up with stock briefly every day or so.

    • how much did you get it for?

shortage everywhere so full price $469 delivered

        • I got an email alert yesterday and by the time I checked it (under 5 mins) it was sold out.

    Costco?

    • Good suggestion, their website doesn't show the item right now.

      • I actually popped by Costco (Auburn) and all they had are Switch Lite. I asked and they didn't stock the Original Switches at all.

  • Get it on Kogan

I just picked one up for a friend from a local Target in the blue mountains area, when I was there helping my family on the weekend. Online showed no stock but there were actually two left in store. They were the updated versions with longer battery life, only in neon red/blue though, for $469. When I checked the local eb games first, the guy there said their last units were click and collect orders from people who came all the way from Syd. Didn’t realise they were so scarce! Haven’t been into Costco for a while but last time I was there, they only had switch lite.

Glad I got mine in grey, plus all the accessories and essential games for a good deal end of last year, although most places say they’re expecting stock by mid to end of April anyway; not that long of a wait, if you want to hold out for a better deal. Think they just got snapped recently up because of a lot more people being at home/under self quarantine.

  • do you only want a LITE?

  • I just bought one on catch.com.au 15 mins ago and eb games have pre orders open for 17 April

  • Who are these dullards buying a significantly marked up switch still in production? Side note: I really should have bought that animal crossing switch, $1000? Insane.

Snagged one from Amazon now. It kept popping up through the afternoon but was never able to add to cart. I then placed an order for another item and immediately after was able to get one. Cost me $469.95 with delivery estimated 9 April.

  • Amazon is stocking it sporadically, it was available around 4/5 am today, make sure you add an alert if you want it. My order just shipped along with my accessories. Hoping Auspost will deliver it earlier than 9 Apr.

  • Nintendo Switch Neon available for Click & Collect at Target however not showing up at catalogue price ($449) for me. It’s $469

Be mindful that depending on where you live, the police are issuing fines for non-essential travel.

    • Thanks Peanut, already sold out though unfortunately

Available on Target now. Be quick.

        • Unfortunately I missed it, wow that was fast

How is buying a nintendo switch non essential travel, what has the world come to :(

      • Same as going out to buy jigsaw puzzles.

Easy just to incorporate the visit whether it be Target, Kmart, Big W etc along with the food shopping in the same centre.

  • So it came back up on Amazon for $469 temporarily, it's out of stock now, lasted just over an hour.

I don't know at around $400 it's great, but at $450 or more, I just don't see it making sense. $450 with a game, yeah great, but without it, quite expensive.
