    Includes shipping?

    • Hi Thommo we offer free shipping Adelaide Metro McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Peninsular and subsidise all other areas. Enter your postcode at checkout and it will calculate the cost. We don't inflate our prices to include free shipping so need to pass on some of the cost.

  • Why can't you provide the labels?

RRP from the cellar doors/winery are always overinflated.

    • This wine is currently on-sale at $29.95. We will only show you an RRP where the wine is online at this price. We deal direct with the wineries and that is what allows us to reduce these prices.

The reason we cannot show the label is that we are protecting the Winemakers brand. We partner with the winemakers so it is up to them if the label is revealed or not. We don't do very many of these hidden label deals so if you'd like to see what you are getting you are welcome to review our other offers.

A lot of our products are priced under the other retailers prices.

Other retailers are limiting transactions to 12 bottles of wine … yet you're posting a deal for 28 … hmmm.

    • Hi Wolfy, The retailers are limiting transactions to keep people out of the liquor stores. We have a warehouse full of distressed stock as the Wine industry has suffered cancelled export orders, reduction in wholesale to restaurants and now closure of their Cellar Doors. We we are doing as much as we can to bring in their stocks and allow for purchase. Wine can be stored for a number of years and any purchase now is a benefit to our industry. Regards Jackie from Winenutt

      It's a marketing stunt.

Hi Salmon, This is not a marketing stunt and in fact we have been running with this pack for nearly 2 weeks. We are trying as best we can to support our wine partners. We offer a 100% wine guarantee. We don't have a retail presence operate out of a secure warehouse and therefore our customers and staff are not at risk with retail trade. If you would like to find out more about winenutt feel free to give us a call. We work heavily with the SA Wine industry particularly the McLaren Vale and also support the travel and food across the state. Jackie

        • This is not a marketing stunt

I didn't call your post a marketing stunt. You're neither restricting the number of bottles or selling a 12 pack, which is what @Wolfy alluded to. Other retailer (ie coles/woolies) are engaging in a marketing stunt, by limiting the sales of alcohol/wine. They're creating an impression that there's somehow a shortage, which there almost certainly isn't, as evidenced by your statements that there's a huge excess of un-exported wine in warehouses around Australia.

It's a pity the ACCC doesn't have the balls to call them out for it. It's unconscionable conduct.

Now, if they had restricted alcohol sales year around to encourage a healthier lifestyle, that would be a noble cause.

Having said all of that, your comparison to a $29.95 bottle of wine is probably flouting the ACCC rules on price comparisons.

          • @salmon123: Hi Salmon, Sorry for my misunderstanding - Yes agree and right now our winemakers really don't need any more pain. We are not floating the ACCC rules and this wine is available for sale online at $29.95. We are an ethical trader with 40 years experience in the industry. Jackie

It's not a reasonable comparison (in my opinion) if the buyer can't observe that for themselves and they have to take your word for it.

It's even worse if you end up shipping a clear skin bottle (or similar), because then the apples-with-apples comparisons has gone to sh*t. Your post doesn't mention if you're shipping clearskin bottles (which is common for excess stock wine) or regular retail bottles.

              • @salmon123: The wine is under label and available elsewhere at the quoted price. It is from the McLaren Vale and Currency Creek and we offer a 100% money back guarantee on the wines. We have had no complaints when the wine is received and only compliments on the quality. We personally select all wines for this reason. We don't run a lot of hidden deals as we like to do online wine tastings to give customers and even better idea of what they will be tasting.

We would have difficulty growing our business if we didn't look after the customer. We pride ourselves on our personal service and connection with the community and other businesses. I understand this might not be the practice of all wine retailers but this is our philosophy.

                Regards Jackie

Have a look at the ACCC guide on price comparisons here. It seems pretty clear to me that you're flouting the rules on price comparisons.

I know a lot of people wont touch this deal just because you have that undisclosed comparison. It's a pity that type of marketing seems to be standard on lots of wine websites.

                  • -1

@salmon123: Thank you we are familiar with these price comparison requirements.

                  • @salmon123: Not sure what you're going on about. Every wine site with mystery deals does this.

                    • -2

@KingThrifty: Just because every website does it, doesn't make it legal. Walk into a mall and you'll see a dozen stores or more with a perpetual 50-90% off sale … another flagrant breach.

I've just added to my card and the following message appears to have a typo (although I enjoyed the phonetics of it):
"Spend over $120 before Midnight 3st March and get a Bottle of Henri’s Book Shiraz worth $60 – we add in the warehouse to all qualifying orders"

Is that 31st March, versus 3rs (thirst) March?

    • Hi Brickles, Thank you for your order I will certainly update this. Jackie
