Why would the suppliers have less customers? People who used to eat their bowl of cereal and drink coffee at work are still going to be doing the same thing at home. Those people are still likely to buy bread and rolls to make sangas at home instead of spending $15 at a nearby cafe to their offices.

Yes, but instead of buying in bulk from a milk supplier, these people at home will be purchasing the milk from the local supermarket anyways, where they have their own suppliers, to save on costs for the entire company.

      • It's the supply chain, previously there were suppliers that provided milk to cafe's restaurants etc and other suppliers who provided milk to supermarkets. Since everyone's at home and buying from the supermarkets, the shelves at the supermarkets are empty and the suppliers who sell to the food service industry have heaps of spare capacity.

It's the downturn in eating out that has caused an imbalance, places that didn't 'supply milk' but 'used milk' etc.

  • Just came from McDonalds Kingsford. The new section came up on the menu but the menu was empty.

  • English muffins are only $2.20 for a 6 pack in QLD (Gold Coast)

Purchased the rolls this morning, $4 for 6 in NSW.
Did purchase 2 litres skim milk but the use by date was 4th April.
Funnily enough there was no use by date on the buns….

    • Funnily enough there was no use by date on the buns….

      is that legal

  • What's the nutritional info on these buns? Particularly interested in sugar content

    • A lot.

    • Similar to any number of similar sweet brioche style burger buns I guess. Way down the nutritional scale for breads

  • Pfff 6 pack of buns cost $4 and English muffins cost $3.
At least milk is kept constant at $1.30 a litre, but can't find 3L anywhere.

  • They could at least support our dairy farmers and sell some of their milk instead of the other rubbish.

Just got the buns at Maccas Prahran, best before… 4/4. And you can taste they're not fresh.

  • Buns are dry and dense. Are they meant to be steamed before consuming?

  • Do they sell toilet paper and hand sanitiser? ;-)

    • I realise your comment is 2 months old and you may already know this but yes, hand sanitiser is now also available. 😅

  • FYI, McDonald's Innaloo
    2L Full cream milk $3.30 (maybe $3.25?)
    6 muffins $6
    =.=

  • The milk is always Sold Out on uber eats at my local mc'ds

  • Ok so mcdonalds has also started to sell Eggs… but I can only find a doz cage free for $5 or $5.50… Surely theyre cheaper somewhere…
