Woolworths Priority Delivery Customers and Toilet Paper

Just a question for those using the Woolworths Priority Assistance Delivery Service. I have made 3 orders since they started the service locally (North Qld) and they never have toilet paper as an option. Has anyone, anywhere in Australia using this service managed to order toilet paper? I'm trying to get a sense of whether they just don't allow you to order anything they don't have in stock at the time of you placing that order or if we are just at or near the end of a very long supply chain.

The last time I was in store before having to isolate (2 weeks ago) the manager in Coles told me when it arrived it was all put on the shelf. I imagine even with rationing it is going quickly. I'm wondering why they wouldn't put some aside for priority deliveries as well or they just aren't getting any/enough?

Regards

P.S. I don't need any suggestions for alternatives or why I don't do this or that instead.

Nope, I'm in NSW and using it to order stuff and have it delivered to my mother. It's not even listed for sale under Priority Assistance here.

  • Yeah I did my first Woolies online order a couple of days ago. It all went well but not being able to order loo paper is a bummer, hence you must go to the store and mix it with the hoards of others looking for for it as well.

I've started rationing loo paper and now down to using 10 sheets for a number 2.

    • I think the supplies of loo paper are beginning to become, generally, available. I've been in a few stores lately that had paper - including Coles and Costco. I was told, if you can't see any, to ask at the desk if they have any out the back. Apparently the same for hand sanitiser - although I haven't tried that yet.

      • Thanks for the comment however the post is very specifically about online orders and the fact that for many of us there is no toilet paper as an option to add to your cart. They could have 10 pallets out the back and it is useless if the online ordering system doesn't have it listed. The first page of a search on Woolworths Online with the term "toilet paper" is ALL toilet cleaning products when I am logged in to my account.

I've done two Woolies online orders and have received 1 pack of toilet paper each time. (Sydney)

    • Hopefully that just means it's a distribution issue that time will solve. I can order items delivered to me from anywhere in Australia by post or freight and it hardly ever reaches me within a week. It's even slower now. Maybe we are in one of the distribution 'black holes' that are serviced last.

  • No :-( I used priority delivery for the first time last week, no toilet paper listed. This is Tassie. All I want is Woolies Essential 2 ply for our septic toilet! We clogged it years ago with 3 ply and the plumber said only use 2 ply and not the one with the frog on it, so of course last week at a small IGA there was plenty of froggy TP.

I have 3 weeks left of TP.

  • You may not be able to order it through the usual priority service because they now have a ‘basics box’ that includes essentials.

    • That isn't available in Queensland and besides I wouldn't use half of that box. We eat low carb mostly for diabetes and other reasons.

In the same boat but already had a bit of a cry about it yesterday. Been five weeks since we've been able to get any in our weekly/twice-weekly Woolies deliveries.

Stock status has always been a bit odd in regards to online orders - it doesn't change whether you schedule a delivery for the next day (when that was possible) or in six days, and has always seemed as though it's based on what's currently in store rather than where things are further back in the supply chain.

    • I went and read your 'cry'. It's the exact same experience as here with the same questions…only more eloquently expressed than me :D

  • I revieved an order today and got toilet paper. I actually recieved everything i ordered which was surprising.
I got it delivered at 7am, in nsw.

    • I have an order coming. There was no toilet paper to order and they have already sent me a list of 6 out-of-stock items. I had already left the order an extra day hoping some of the original items I couldn't order might arrive. They mostly came into stock. I ordered then I got the message they were gone, This is eggs and bread, chicken etc.

      • Thats so odd that i got everything and most people arent. I thought maybe things were getting better but it seems not. I spent $300 on shopping so it wasnt a small order either.
I did write a note next to almost every item saying if that bread is not in stock give me any, same for milk eggs TP etc.

Coles also has their priority delivery set up now so you could try them. Not sure how much better they would be though.

        • Coles say they have it set up and 60,000 people using it but I could not find how tho register or what the criteria is. After searching for 30 min found out how to register for online delivery but when trying to apply for the priority service it goes in a loop and the info says eligible people have been advised. Their website is hopeless on this. I rang them and the message states if you are enquiring about this service they do not have any info and to hang up. I have qualified for Woolworths Priority service and Coles is so far behind its unbelievable. It's like they do not want to do it and are just pretending for the PR.

@Yola: I really struggled to find it as well..

Google 'coles cops application form' and it should be the first thing to come up. Then you have to login snd the form should be there. I did it yesterday for myself and my mum who is sick & an hour from any stores. It worked almost instantly. Just refresed our accounts and we could see the delivery times.

      • I couldn't get chicken either, in Tassie. I ordered PM on 2/4 and it was delivered at 9am on 4/4, the first delivery time I could get. No cherry tomatoes either or Homebrand Chux cloths.

        • We are both probably at furthest north and south ends of the supply chain.

I'm spending more on priority delivery once per week than I ever did going to Woolies 2-3 times per week! Had to pay full price for Dolmio this week instead of getting it for half price - used up my half price jars in the pantry.

    • It actually hurts to have to pay full price for things I always get at half price. Are you paying $15 for each delivery or are there other options?

      • +2

Yes, the delivery price of $15 is ridiculous when they can't supply half of what is ordered.

This is the first time I've used online ordering with Woolies. The first time last week it was first order free delivery over $100. This week (2/4) I spent $345 and it didn't say there was a delivery fee on the invoice so I'm not sure. I was just shocked at how much it all was.

Now Mum told me last night Friday is Good Friday and the shops will be closed - haven't even thought that far ahead, so will be putting in my next order tomorrow and asking for Thurs delivery even though the groceries only arrived 2 days ago!

If like me you're still having trouble ordering the stuff from Woolies, keep an eye on Amazon.com.au. After four days of checking at random times throughout the day, I managed to snag a pack (way bigger than I want, but beggars can't be choosers!). Just search for "toilet tissue", select Amazon AU under the Sellers list on the left to filter out all the crap, and bookmark the results page. Not sure if there are any Amazon monitoring bots that'll do the job for you and send an alert.

The one I ordered was out of stock within minutes, so it's very much going to be a matter of luck. It's likely many never appear on OzBargain as deals because stock just disappears too quick (EDIT: it wasn't the Quilton that coincidentally got posted as a deal ten mins ago, but this one).

    • Thanks, Jabba the Hutt :-)

  • UPDATE: I put in my new Woolies order this morning and they charged me $3 delivery fee + $1 reusable bags fee.

    • The only delivery fee I see is $15 so that sound good. How did you get it?

  • For subscribers to this thread first: https://www.amazon.com.au/Quilton-Toilet-Tissue-Sheets-11x10…

    Good luck :)

EDIT: Gone within 5 minutes after spotting it. Now notice this was already posted on the front page just over an hour ago (and quickly went OOS), but it was back in stock at the time I encountered it. Sorry to disappoint.

I have my first order with a pack of toilet paper coming today. I'll be interested if they add it to a no-stock list before it is delivered.

I'm supposed to be getting some this morning - not listed in the out of stock email I received. It's the wrong ply for my septic so I'm going to try and separate the sheets!

      • Good luck with that. I'm on town sewerage luckily and I got my 10 pack today. Woohoo!

UPDATE: Got a 20 pack of Sorbent 3 ply TP which is no good for our septic so I'm going to try and separate the sheets! Better than nothing.
