    Wow premix drinks are expensive

If you bought the liquor and mixers in NSW to make the same quantity you're looking at roughly $95 and that's using homebrand dry.

At 6.3% there's 567mL of alcohol in this case. A bottle of Jameson is 40% ABV which means this would have 1417.50mL of Jameson (just over 2 bottles). Total volume of this case is 9000mL minus the 1417.50mL of Jameson means 7582.50mL of mixer (just over 6 1.25L bottles of mixer). A bottle of Jameson is $44.95 at Dan Murphy's at the moment and 1.25L of homebrand dry from Coles/Woolies is 90 cents. Cost of materials is $95.30. Add about $6 for

      • Keep the cans you've consumed and get your recycling cash…another $2.40 into the ledger?

    • Been like this for about 10 years. You are late to the party

$4.60 a can … or you could buy 2 bottles of Jameson and mix it yourself

This could be said about most premium strength pre mixes. It is what it is. If I am going to a party (obviously not at the moment) I much prefer a premix. They serve a purpose.

      • I take the bottle. It isn't inconvenient to have bottle and coke in a cooler bag.

Also, you can drink much nicer for the same price rather than saving money. I'd go Jura superstition at this price.

One shot is 30ml. One shot of Jameson is equivalent to 0.95 standard drinks

One can of Jameson and dry lime is 1.9 standard drinks.

So essentially you need two shots of Jameson to equal one drink of the premix so 60ml of Jameson per drink

Bottle of Jamo right now is $45 at Dan Murphys.

60ml per drink and 700ml in a bottle I can make 11 drinks for $45

so you're paying $4.09 per drink to mix it yourself.

      So you've saving 51 cents a drink that's a total saving of $12.24 over 24 drinks

You'll need two bottles of gingerale per bottle of Jameson and Gingerale from woolies is $2 (schwepps not using home brand) so $4 total.

You have saved a total of $8.24 over 24 drinks so 0.34 cents per drink AND you own mixed drink is technically 0.1 standard drinks weaker.

For 34 cents I'd rather just have the convenience of having my drink all mixed in a can and can just toss it straight into the bin when I am done with it. What do you plan on doing with 34 cent saving?

      • @sauce2k6 return your OZB membership…. every 34c saved goes straight into eneloops and airpods, sheesh

        ;)

      • Mad respect … but you forgot the cost of limes … which helps your argument so I'll just be over here wasting money mixing myself if you need me :)

        • Oh shit how could I forget the limes! lol. I'm clearly bored :)

I'll be stingy with the limes and say one quarter wedge per drink?

1 lime per 4 drinks so you'd need 3 limes. $0.56 cents per lime (from woolies online) so extra $1.28.

          You're now saving $6.96 over 24 drinks

0.29 cents per drink saved to mix it yourself (0.1 standard drink weaker still) so you're still saving technically

AND NO I DON"T WANT ANY MORE ENELOOPS LOL

Edit: You could save more I suppose if you get the 1 litre bottle or Get Jameson when it's on special, can get it on special for $40 or so

          • @sauce2k6: Mate, How bloody frugal are you…

Where the hell is your recycling cash?????

            • @Jofzar: Hahaha omg I'll add it in.

24 cans recycled at 10 cents a can another $2.40 you would save

Saving over 24 drinks is now $4.56

Total saving per drink mixing it yourself (0.1 standard drinks weaker than the premix) is now 19 cents lol

      • Does it taste better than making it yourself?

Premix soft drink is always nasty. You gotta go buy real coke/ginger ale/whatever.

  • These are the strong ones so they're pretty expensive. The standard strength ones aren't that much more expensive than a Jim Beam or CC

  • These r only $60 delivered with Groupon code

  • OOS sadly
