im in the market for a new larger tv, i currently have a Sony Bravia KD65X8500C 4K- which is getting moved into another room, this tv has a great picture for every thing that i watch
Im looking to go up to the 85 inch model. Mainly will be used to watch the sports and movies on
What are peoples thoughts/experiences?

I just went through this. I had a 55 inch Sony 4K Android tv from 2017. I loved it, operating system was easy to use, got updates and apps (I.e prime video wasn’t a thing back in 2017, but can still download the app) I was tossing up between 75 and 85 inch now. Opted for the Sony Z9F 75inch for when it was on sale for $3k a few weeks ago.
We sit about 3.5m back from the tv and it’s pretty huge. Picture quality is good too. I wouldn’t go bigger than 75inch at that distance.
In market for TV in a few months and will be similar distance away, when you say "pretty huge" is that too big or you're happy with the size?
Its about right, It pretty in your face but 65 would not have been big enough.
We will be about 4.5m back, 85 might be too big?
Some people find it helpful to get a bedsheet/cardboard/masking tape or similar and make a rectangle that’s the same size as the TV they’ll be putting in the space. That way you can get a bit of an idea of how big it’ll look in your room from your viewing distance, not just in a store that likely has high ceilings and a lot of space either side of the TV.
