[Switch] Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition $52.50 (was $75) @ Nintendo eShop

150

Equal lowest price from eShop - was also $52.50 briefly around Xmas according to dekudeals but not posted here.

Switch version has the ability to cross-save between PC (steam) and switch - PC version is cheaper as always but pretty cool to have the option to continue a game on switch. https://www.kotaku.com.au/2019/09/divinity-original-sin-2s-c…

One of the best RPGs in recent years.
Graphics take a hit on switch but otherwise game experience is pretty good.

Has multiplayer options for isolation co-op RPG goodness (4-player online, local wireless but no split screen local).

    Digital games should be half price from the start compared to physical copies. You have 0% resell value, the moment you bought it you lost all that money, you can't transfer the game to someone else's account, you cant keep the ownership of the game on your account if that game becomes available/compatible/ported to some future console etc. You can't do anything besides playing it and your done, it's as thrown in the bin. Digital games should be either significantly cheaper or to be some sort of a way to digitally rent them.

    Gotta love how Nintendo rips people off with prices. Same game on all other consoles and PC is like $30 at the moment. Runs better and looks better. BuT iTs pOrtAble.

      Do Nintendo set the price in this case, though? Ie where the game is developed / published by a 3rd party? Although your point still stands - pricing of their first party games is worse than this.

      Would love to pick it up for around $30, where are you seeing this price?

      This is what I can find
      * Steam: $64.95
      * GOG: $72.99
      * Xbox: $49.97
      * PSN: $84.95

      • Was like $32 on Steam less than 24 hours ago and has regularly been discounted there and other consoles for very reasonable prices. Will take Nintendo much much longer to start charging these prices. My point is mainly the lack of parity, especially in 3rd party games. What makes the inferior Nintendo version so special apart from portability? Don’t get me wrong, I think the switch is a brilliant console. But they don’t just get to charge a higher price unless there is a very valid reason. And I don’t think I see one.

          It's $36 on PS4 and Xbox. Not digital though (Amazon).

        • Damn, I must've missed that sale one on Steam.
          Agreed on your points about the Nintendo version, I don't have the answer though haha

        • I’ll give you the $2

    Not convinced this is cheap enough for me to bite. Not willing to pay much nintendo tax on this one… 50% off will do

    • I looked into historical pricing. $32.50 steam. $52.50 eshop. Doesn't seem to have any big discounts in its history. So I may never get my desired $38 pricing on switch.

      Stupid thing is I'd consider buying on pc and switch due to cross play. But not at a high price on each.
