[Resolved] MacBook Pro Inbuilt Camera "There Is No Camera Connected"

My camera has been working until only recently. I have searched the interwebs with the following solutions which havent worked.
i have tried the to type on terminal 'sudo killall VDCAssistant' and 'sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant'
and ive tried mac option command p r
and tried shutting down/restarting with no luck

Has anyone else had a similar experience or any solutions?

What does System Report say about the camera? Press ⌘ + Space and type System Report. On the left sidebar find 'camera' and copy and paste report.

    • hmmm i dont have a system report when i seatch spotlight?

    • actually found it if i clicked apple icon and about this mac, then system report

it says "No video capture devices were found."

Did you try connecting the camera?

If the above fails, did you try turn it on and off again?

If the above fails, did you try connect the camera?

If you have an 2016 model or above, your lcd cable is starting to tear, best to go to Apple, for that model they design a feature where the cable wasn’t long enough

    • I did have some very brief moments where the LCD screen looked a tiny bit weird, but otherwise seemed quite normal

  • Yep as Toughcookie says, it seems like a hardware issue if you have restarted the laptop and tested it in different software besides things like facetime, e.g webcamtoy or pretty much any website that lets you take photos. If you don't get panicked and nervous at the sight of a thousand dollars worth of harware, try open the back case of the Macbook and just see if you can spot any damage in the flexible cables, once you diagnose the actual issue it's not too hard fixing it. If you don't have that much time, just buy an external webcam for your Macbook off eBay for like $10 - $20.
