Swan M10 2.1 Vs Edifier R1700BT

Need a new set of speakers, and just wanted to ask you guys which one of the following you would recommend, since (to a newb like me) they're both similar and kinda similarly priced.

Swan M10 2.1 - https://www.pccasegear.com/products/20185/swan-m10-powered-2… ($149 + the $15.00 delivery = $164)

Edifier R1700BT 2.0 https://www.edifier.com/au/en/speakers/r1700bt-bluetooth-boo… (comes with free delivery so total price is $139.99)

I await the light of clarification!

The Swan are ugly as hell if that helps.

I have the Swans. Don't do it. They sound great, but they don't seem to be shielded so they pickup random radio stations etc. So annoying.

    R1700BT

Cheap 2.1 system is usually worse than cheap 2.0 system.

  • Thanks guys, Edifier it is!

  • 1700bt has terrible bluetooth and no lower bass. nothing between 20-60hz. If you talk about an attenuated sound it's possible they go down to 50hz. With a sine wave sweep I think between 50-60hz you get sound artefacts. The treble is not perfect but it's better than many cheap powered speakers. Because it has no low end bass, they try to hide that with increasing mid bass, creating a boomy sound. You can reduce that somewhat with the bass dial on the side of speaker.

The lack of low range bass is what annoys me the most. Also the low quality bt.
