Basic / Cheap Printer

Hi all,

looking for a basic cheap to run printer. We don't print a lot, but need to print sometimes. I'm think I'm looking at a cheap laser black printer, because all the ink-jet colour ones I've had recently run dry in a few months and cost more then the printer.

Looking at either the Brother HL-1210W or HP W2G51A. Both around the $100 mark.

Thoughts?

I got a $24 colour printer / scanner / photocopier from Big W with ink.

    It supports wireless printing.

    I'm quite happy with it.

    HP DeskJet 3632

Can get cheaper paper at K-Mart

    500 Sheets Copy/Laser Paper $3.75

I found this out after I already bought some more expensive paper, but I'll be trying it when I run out of my current 500 sheets.

  • I have the Brother HL-1210W. It is basic and does the job no worries at all. As expected, the print cartridge they sell it with doesn't have much life in it so be prepared to buy a replacement cartridge within the first year.

Brother is generally the go-to around here, probably mainly on price

The 2300D is $129 but does duplex printing, which might be more worthwhile?

Any stock of the 1110 near you?
