for the layperson , how much would i have to pay out of my pocket? $267 ??

    • You'd be out-of-pocket $2,155. This is $267 to eko energy to have your system installed, then once the system is installed you begin to pay off the no-interest loan of $1,888 to the Victorian Government. This equates to approximately $40/month for 4yrs. The Victorian Governments, thinking behind this is that the savings you are making from the solar system are paying off the no-interest loan.

I studied this before, pay 267 upfront and need to pay $1888 over 4 years. Also it is for tin roof, which isn't most common i think? Then need to pay extra perhaps for tile roof.

    • thanks. Not worth it. Dud deal but I wont downvote.

It's very much location based the old tin vs tile. On a side note it amazes me in the city areas these big volume builders can do tile cheaper than tin, get out side the city and it's the opposite. They must get a great rate on the tiles, I know they screw the tilers right down (like they do every trade), because the trusses are spaced at 600 cts for tile roofs means they can skip on plaster batten and direct fix plaster straight to trusses (not a fan of this). They also get the bonus that at 600 cts truss spacing they pass fall protection regulations.

As for the deal a 2kw solar system is such a waste unless you absolutely have no roof space, it's not that much more labor to install a 6.6kw system and the price per watt comes down considerably the larger the system because you receive the STC government rebate on the total output of your panels.

    • Tin & Colourbond roofs are probably about 50% of what we quote, the remaining roofs being tile & kliplok roofs.

There is a marginal extra cost for tiled roof due to the different brackets and labour incurred.

Who would install a 2kw system these days?
    :/

    • Good point, we generally recommend a larger kW system. However, for those homeowners that want to maximise the Vic Gov Rebate and Vic Gov No-interest loan with as little out-of-pocket as possible, while at the same time making a dent in their electricity bills. This is what we are recommending.

As part of our remote telephone consultation, reviewing your electricity bill, how many in your household, roof space and other factors we can together determine a suitably sized kW system for your needs and goals.

Surely no one would be taking this deal seriously lol.

    2.64kW is dreadful.

    5kW minimum these days.

You can do a 5kW system for $0 upfront with the $1888 interest free govt loan.

    Find a new installer

  • Please add price for 5kW

    • For a 5.28kW solar system it's $3,874. This is made up of $1,986 to eko energy, then once the system is installed you start to pay off the $1,888 no-interest loan to Vic Gov, which equates to approximately $40/month for 4yrs.
