No OCE/ASIA servers for Valorant

Hey fellow bargainers, have any of you been able to access the Open Beta for Valorant yet?I've heard many other Australians are using VPNs and have sucessfully gained access by playing in EU and NA servers since Asia servers have been down due to COVID-19 related issues.

If you have, can you please describe what VPN or method you used to gain access
I've tried doing it by using a VPN myself and watching streams with it on, but have yet to get a key in the 30/40 hours watched

Any feedback would be appreciated

Is this the next overhyped me-too online FPS game?

    • Yep. Looks like a cartoon version of csgo. Won't be surprised if it's dead within months of launch.

It's a Riot game (they make League of Legends). It'll be free to play as well so there'll be a lot of people playing. For how long though…
If you compare Overwatch with it's free counter part, Paladins we see there are still a lot of people playing.

Free games tend to attract the most people (and generally the most toxic as well).

        • You're definitely right about those games attracting toxic people ( kids ).

See what happens I guess. Legends of Runeterra which Riot released a little while ago seems to be dead in the water.

          • @nandxor: Well I hadn't heard of that game before. I see people streaming valorant with 200k viewers so it obviously has some pull.

            • @SnowDragon: It's pretty decent.
It's a throwback to how FPS's used to look and play like back in the day, as opposed to the over the top graphics and randomness in current FPS's.

  • i personally wouldn't want to be play any type of Twitch shooter on a VPN, the lag would make me hate the game.

I got in. Im from melbourne Australia. To clear things up I used a VPN to connect my riot account and used a vpn to watch streams. I used one month of NORDVPN. Now this is where the confusion is. Once you've gotten the key you dont need the vpn to be able to play. For some reason just use the account details used for the USA servers and it connects. The ping isnt too bad its between 120-220. Its very fun and goodluck!

    • thanks dude

    • Can you clarify this abit more? Did you make a US riot account with the vpn and connect it to your twitch? Or did you just connect your twitch via vpn?

You need to create your Riot account while the VPN is connected and it will link your Riot account to that region, otherwise it'll create a Riot account linked to Oceanic region.

Once that's done, log onto Twitch, go to settings, connect to Riot account….
There's no regions in Twitch, so it doesn't matter about creating a new Twitch account or anything.

Then, with your leave a bunch of streams open overnight (best way to do it in case you leave 1 person on and it disconnects or they go offlline for the day).

My ping is pure shit either way, as I'm in Perth (250+ ping).
I got an error once when loading up the game but after that, it's opened every time without a VPN as was mentioned above.

        • Alright thanks for the help. Do you still need the vpn when watching twitch?

          • @b0nkers: Sorry bit slow to respond - no you don't.
I actually thought you did but confirmed you don't.

Hopefully you got sorted by now though.
