Google Home Max - Can I Temporarily Dumb It down to Not Accept "Hey Google" Commands?

Sounds very odd I know, I have good reason though…

In short I just want it to be a "dumb AUX speaker" for the next 2 weeks, stealth mode.

I have a Google Home Max in its box unopened, I'd like to open it if I can do the above. Otherwise I'll wait until I move and use it normally.

Thanks in advance!

There's a physical switch at the back, toggle it to disable listening. https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7072889?hl=en-A…

Is it actually physical? As in, removes the connection to the mic? Or just a software switch?
I am wondering because of this picture I saw on Reddit.

      • He said physical.

          Let's get physical, physical.

        • "Hardware kill switch" would be more appropriate, in my opinion.

      • Nope, it's only metaphorically physical 🤦‍♂️

    • Legend. Thank you!

  • My aux doesn't work, let us know if you got sound to come out via the aux input! I'm afraid mine is faulty and I just got mine last week

    • Nah mine didn't work either. I wondered if it was the AUX cable or my PC setup but I guess it's probably not now. I've googled it a few times and people say it's relatively easy.
