1750

Stay safe :)

Stirling-based Dada Bhagwan Perth foundation has joined forces with Amba Foods WA to make and deliver free vegetarian meals to people in social isolation, seniors and others struggling financially or otherwise to find food. The foundation members discussed providing meals with Amba Foods owner Bhavin Desai, who has been supplying the ingredients and time with his employees to make the meals as well as serving their usual customers. Mr Shah said Amba Foods WA had the capacity to prepare up to 1000 meals a day at its Tuart Hill kitchen. Delivered free to suburbs in council areas of Stirling, Joondalup, Wanneroo, Vincent, Bayswater, and Subiaco.

99% establishment/restaurants are Indian who offering free food. Hats off to all

    • +1

Yes I notice that these offerings are typically run by first or second generation Australians, it’s amazing!

    • +2

I agree and I wonder where are those high end restaurants? Sure if these small Indian groups can do and survive, others can do too?

      • +2

Spot on. High end restaurants and also the mid-level restaurants offering other cuisines as well! Where are they? A lot of them are supposedly busier in normal times and probably can survive better despite such community help if they chose to do.

Delivered free to cities of Stirling, Joondalup, Wanneroo, Vincent, Bayswater, and Subiaco.

The article is referring to these councils, not just these as the suburbs. The City of Stirling for example is the largest council in WA by population.

Thank you. Title & OP updated :)

      • +1

Yep seems all good now, I can see the confusion from the article if you weren’t familiar with the LGA’s in Perth. Tuart Hill (where Amba are based) is located in the City of Stirling.

  • +2

Note to OP: These are 6 Local Government areas, not suburbs, so there are well over a hundred suburbs covered.

I have ordered food from these guys so many times, and for $10 delivered to your door, it's amazing value and fresh!

    • +1

Well keep ordering from them! 🤗🇦🇺

What is your favourite dish of theirs?

      • +2

They are always on speed dial when I need it. Not always.

Their menu changes every week, so check out their Facebook page once a week for updates.

Kudos to them and all the other guys supporting the vulnerable in our community.

For those of you south of the river or if you have families south of the river, it looks like they did a one off SOR day on Saturday. They might do it again. If it interests you, maybe follow their Facebook page. 💐🤗🙏

Thanks for posting another one of these offers, OP!

Not only are those in need being given access to meals, but TA gets a lesson in urban organisation of the Wild West! It's a win all 'round!

    • For people who've completed Battletoads.

    • for guys who are doing it and also for TA for making all aware who are in need via OZbargain.
