I don't think I have ever seen this game so cheap in Australia, especially if your able to get free delivery. Currently selling in oz for around $60 to $80.

Was very surprised to see a lot of good reviews from critiques and users.

Good deal. Isn't this game very hard to get into? That's why I hadnt bought it previously.

    • I guess it could be intimidating if you haven't played this kind of game before. There is a free demo on Steam if your PC is up to trying it out before you buy.

    • Might take a few games on 'Prince' or lower difficulty to get used to the mechanics, but once you're there it's super addictive. Clocked about 1000 hours on PC. Great for passing the time in lockdown.

    • Only speaking for the base game (don't have the DLCs), but its definitely a lot less intuitive than Civ5. And 5 is already fairly complex.

    • +1

I hated V and VI. They spoilt the series by trying to make it more complex and it results in an extremely slow moving game.

      • So if you've never played on a PC, you probably won't know.

  • +1

    Shipping kills it…

    • +2

The price for one month of Amazon Prime is cheaper than the shipping for this alone.

    • +1

Delivery from the US is showing around $6 AUD for me?

      • must be based on state

  • +2

It’s basically the same price on steam now on sale.

  • For free shipping with Prime, does it mean I have to spend $49 only on Amazon US items?

    • +1

Yes, it does. It might not have to be Amazon US as it just has to be imported from overseas.

    • There's a game that never got released in Aus physically called Everspace which gets decent reviews for ~$35

      Take that as you will

  • +5

You were 'very surprised to see good reviews' for one of the most acclaimed and successful strategy game franchises of all time?

    • +1

surprised to see good reviews for the switch port

  • Does it matter that this is a US Region copy? Wouldn’t that impact DLC and Gold Point redemption?

    • +1

As a generalization you need to match the DLC to the same region of the game and gold points more often or not fails but it's over a year old anyway so it would have expired.

    • -1

The DLC thing needs more research, but honestly I don't think it matters what region the DLC is from.

I have a Canadian copy of Dead Cells and both the free and paid DLC were from the Aus eShop and work without issue

    • Last time this was posted about a month ago it was stated the DLC doesn't work from Australia. That's why I didn't get it.

  • Great price, but blah at us version again.

    • Why

      • +3

Two weeks delivery wait, feel like it's a step back in years to when the Aussie dollar was strong and we were all importing from ozgameshop or playasia… Sucks that a local copy can't be had for a price within cooee of this.

That's all, certainly nothing major haha.

        • Delivery will be more than two weeks. Honestly there's likely no reasonable time frame.
I ordered on something on April 1 from Amazon US and it's yet to ship.

  • +1

Is this any good on Switch? Love it on PC but it seems like a mouse and large monitor game.

    • +2

A metacritic page was linked in the description…

    • Yeah, I wouldn't play games like this with a controller. I'd be interested to see how it performs mid to late game on the Switch.

    • +1

I was sceptical too but gave it a chance based on the reviews when it first came out. I played over a thousand hours of civ 4 on my PC.

It's brilliant on the switch. It feels intuitive and the controls don't hinder the gameplay. The ability to play on the couch while the significant other watches batchelor is a godsend.

Give it a crack, you won't regret!

      • +1

can you use the touch screen?

        • +1

          Yep

  • +1

    Great price great game!

  • what else can we buy from amazon us pls

    • +1

You can go to DekuDeals, switch the region to US and then use their filters to look for "physical" titles from "amazon.com" then sort by price.

Interesting space themed rogue-like call d Everspace that never got a physical edition here for ~$35 that I added.

  • prime account:Delivery: $7.64

    • +2

You clearly didn't read the text on the site stating that free shipping from US requires a $49 spend.

  • +2

I literally just paid 45 bucks for this on the eshop a couple hours ago.

  • I already spent three nights on playing this game on PC. it's an awesome and time consuming game. if you like strategy kind of gaming experience.

  • The delivery at this stage from US could be super slow. I bought this game from the last deal on 24-Mar, (the estimated date of arrival was 10-Apr) but it still yet to be delivered.

    • Amazon is pretty precise with their deliveries. I would get in contact with the seller or check the tracking number for an eta

Played 920 hours of Civ 6 over the past 2 years. It's an ok game LOL

  • +2

Beware, the Civ VI Switch port only supports LAN multiplayer (router, hotspot, modem connections - not wireless device to device).

If you were looking for hotseat or online multiplayer modes they don't exist.

Apart from this massive flaw, most players have reported positive experiences, it's a good port apparently.

  • As someone who has never played the franchise, is this game ok to play with the switch lite? I see many people and reviews say the ported switch version is great - but i have the switch lite (i.e. cant undock controls)

  • +1

    Even cheaper now, $24.68
