The Good Guys Commercial Price Check - LG Front Load

Hi all,

I am looking for a Front Load washing machine. Unless I get an absolutely spectacular deal on something else, I have decided on a LG Series 7 or Series 9 (WV7-1408W, WV7-1409W, WV9-1408W, WV9-1409W). My preference is is WV7-1408 because it is all I need and should be the cheapest option.

I doubt Good Guys commercial will help a lot in this scenario, but if somebody with access has a chance would you mind doing a price check (I think the only one they will do is the WV9-1409)?

Would love a 20% off TGG eBay right about now!

Would be very welcome to other suggestions as well. Located south side of Brisbane.

Thanks all

    • Thanks - that's tempting on the WV7-1409 ($887-$15). I can't believe I missed that site after all my searching - must have incorrectly assumed it was an interstate scratch and dent store or something.

WV9-1409 is $942 at TGG Commercial

    • Thanks so much! That is actually a lot better than I expected. Pending delivery options it is the best thing going.

Do you know how delivery works - can you click and collect, or do you know roughly how much they charge (I know in store it is normally like $55).

Sorry, can't confirm but should be identical to the normal store.

We bought a dishwasher and from memory the installation charge was the same as the store price.

    • That's an awesome price; not sure if you'll see this, but is the price still around that mark? Signed up for g'day rewards and am waiting for my tggc login details. Current 10 year old Samsung has corked it.

Yes it’s still $942 at TGGC.

        • Thanks!

        • Found out that I had a free membership through ASU, which was instant. Have ordered my LG now; was looking at Bosch as well but just that little bit dearer and the 9kg was out of stock with only 8kg available.

I liked the fact that the LG is a direct drive as well, as a simracer I guess I can say I've got two direct drives now. :)

Will order a backflow valve as well; I understand LGs can benefit from this and it even states to use one in the manual if pressure is above a certain limit. (Not that I have a handy way of measuring that).

For completeness, I've screenshotted all of the LG washers on TGG Commercial.

Looks like all of them are Series 5 or top loaders other than the sole Series 9 mentioned above.

    • Thanks so much as well!

As above, do you know how delivery works - can you click and collect, or do you know roughly how much they charge (I know in store it is normally like $55).

Thanks all - TGG agreed to price match commercial in store, but was going to wait 2 weeks for stock. HN matched $942 in store (was apparently only just above their limit) and I can pick up on the weekend.

Well done, never thought to price match TGG Commercial with TGG.

I know lots of people don't like HN but I've never had price match issues with them, still using the rice cooker I did a price match on about 5 years ago.

  • Hi OP, I've also been looking at these exact washers over the last week. Any ideas what the difference is between Series 5, 7 and 9? I only know 9 has the Turbo Wash 360. Leaning more towards the 9kg Series 9 right now, been waiting for 20% off TGG eBay.

    Thanks in advance

    • It's a bit hard to tell, isn't it!

If you go to the LG website you can do a comparison. However, I don't think it is that accurate. If you click on each model and ignore the full colour advertising and just look at the spec sheets you can identify a bit more. I have loaded this comparison up for you; https://www.lg.com/au/compare?bizType=B2C&modelId=MD06192296…

The Series 5 only has limited steam functions. The series 9 is also the only one to have the express rinse jets.

I was happy to get the Series 7 or 9, whatever I could get the best deal on, but leaning towards the 9 because that is the one that CHOICE reviewed and is their top pick under 10kg across all manufacturers right now.

I got my WV9-1409W hooked up last weekend and having done a couple of loads I love it so far.

Note that getting TGG in store or HN to price match TGG commercial like I did for $942 is cheaper than TGG20!!

      • Thanks very much, this is really helpful!

Yeah i did just realize it was more than 20% off. Do you know if you're able to pay with gift cards if price beating / ordering from TGG Commercial? (I can buy discounted ones at 5% off through my employer for extra savings)

Have also been looking at that Bosch with I-DOS but that's $1599, big jump in price. The Series 9 does look really good and more affordable, hopefully I can get the same deal as you and have them price match commercial as well!

        • I don't know - but my thought would be definitely not on commercial and very likely able to with price match.

I did everything over the phone. Call up your store, tell them the commercial price, ask if they will price match. They will get manager to approve, and if they do they will SMS/email you an invoice to pay.

At this stage you should be able to pay as usual - I would probably go in store at this point if you wanted to use gift cards to make things easier. Up to you at what stage you want to ask that question.

        • HN said the number was within their discretionary range to price beat - he didn't need external evidence or manager approval. I just told him over the phone that TGG were matching their commercial price of $942 in store, but you have one in stock now. Can you match it? And he did it and emailed me an invoice.

          • @AutomationGuy: Looking to get the same machine & TGG Commercial price is $968 not $942. Surely a month's apart shouldn't make a difference I would have thought.

  • Hi, can someone please check the TGG commercial for a price on this washing machine?

    WAU28490AU

    Thanks!
