3 Bottles of Heidsieck & Co Monopole NV Champagne 750ml for $99 at Vintage Cellars (in Store)

60

Spotted this today at Vintage Cellars in St Ives (NSW), it's Australia wide. The URL above is to the NSW catalogue, but I checked the other states catalogues and they show the same special too.

Regular price: $57 each bottle, but I think you can probably get it for $45 per bottle when in mixed dozen, but this price of $33 per bottle is a great deal, plus you can earn cellar points.

Stock up for Christmas & New Year, or just get into trouble like me from the fun police for buying too much grog.

Happy & sensible drinking.

  • How does the cellarmasters deal work?

    • My bad, should be $255 for 9 bottles, will amend the above.

      • I thought cellarmasters and vintage cellars were different businesses? One is owned by Wesfarmers and the other is Woolworths?

        • ahh… yeah, apologies, you are correct. Will meekly remove the above comment about cellarmasters.

  • Great price for a really smart champagne!

  • It's 18 Pounds in the UK. That's about $27. Still room for more discounts ;)

    • Actually in Australia we pay WET (wine equalisation tax), which does not exist in the UK, on top of GST which adds up to around 35-40%, plus shipping from Europe.

So you can't simply convert from GBP to AUD as you would for electronics or clothing. You can't even "just add 10%". You need to know your taxes. Even if you have it shipped in customs are extremely strict on collecting duties on alcohol which they are lax about for other items - they will make you pay duties if you have more than one or two bottles shipped (and often they will even charge it on that).

Wine is one of the few imports in Australia where the shipper/retailer does not make a stupid profit - instead the government does!

Thus an 18 pound European wine actually converts to $50-$60 after adding in the devastating Australian taxes making this an outstanding deal.

  • good deal on the moet/pommery bundle too
