Recommendation for Condenser or a Heat Pump Dryer

Looking for recommendation to purchase a condenser or a heat pump dryer under $1000 . I was interested in F & P
( https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/fisher-and-paykel-8kg-condens… ) but this has one had bad reviews.

Any thoughts on Beko? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/beko-bdp700w7kg-sensor-co…

Has anyone used this as it seems too good for its price but has warranty for 5 years with 6 start energy rating.

Any suggestions or advise is appreciated :)

  • I would avoid the plain condenser units if you can. The heat pump ones take a little longer but use a lot less power.

I have this one which I've been fairly happy with and got it for around $1000 after a bosch cashback and an Good Guys ebay sale: https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/bosch-wth85200au…

  • We have the Beko dryer you linked to and can't find any fault with it.
So many settings you can dry pretty much any clothing or bedding, and it is nice to not have the laundry steam up when the dryer is going.
The included hose to drain the water is really long, so it will reach pretty much anywhere. Or just use the drain tank, it holds a fair bit of water so it's not like you have have to drain it every 5 minutes.

We did have a fault with the catch on the lower door not holding properly - nothing that stopped the dryer working but it was annoying. Beko were great when it came to getting it fixed and it was no hassle at all - apart from having to be home when the repair man arrived.

  • I've read good reviews with that Beko.

  • The stars go up to 10, so it’s 6/10
Is deceptive on the sticker as there is a second row of stars above that’s missing.
Does sound really cheap for what it includes.

  • Might be worth having a look at the new LG DVH4-08W heat pump dryer. Good guys have it for $1075 as an introductory price. Looks like the going price will be $1199. I'm not in a rush so ill probably wait for a 20% off ebay sale and purchase one myself.

  • Have that Beko dryer now for about a year and a half. No issues so far.

  • I have the F&P one. It's my first dryer I've had so can't really compare to others. It works well have had it for a year now.

  • It goes

Vented dryer -> Condenser Dryer -> Heat Pump Dryers.

Get the heat pump if you can!

    • What about when it says "Heat Pump Dryer with self-cleaning condenser"

      • +1

        They're classed as a heat pump :)

  • I have a very similar looking fp hp

It gave an error almost at the end of the second year. The warranty guy then made a mistake and we got a new replacement.

    Machines fine.

    Shoe rack mode doesn't work
So instead I put the shoe rack and do a timed dry
Also sheets do roll up sometimes in sheet mode
Just check it every half hour or so

    Dries at a satisfying speed
