~300 Dollar Laptops, Low End...

Was going to get something like this for my folks, however, looks like its jumped back up.

http://www.myfind.com/Electrical/Computers/eMachine-eME732Z-…

occasionally things pop up, so i dont mind waiting, only requirements she had was she can use it for email/surfing and document editing and a cd writer so she could make her own CDs from the CDs she owns. (DVD writer would be a plus)
so its pretty much a low end machine. the only thing i'd add if possible TV out (standard pal) &HDMI if possible but not essential.

preferably new…

cant believe the one from myfind went up though! might give them a call to see if they can still do it at that price if it has a writer.

  • What about this?

Not sure about the brand though

  • All notebooks that have a built in optical drive always has a DVD burner installed.

DVD-ROM and CD-ROM drives are no longer in production, you won't find them anywhere now (except perhaps the scrap or on eBay).

  • Harvey Norman and Joyce Mane seem to be offloading 2 for $500 laptops, maybe see them?

    • HN sold out… only had intels, expensive. you know 2 laptops for 500 doesnt equal one laptop at 300!

but yeah i know could sell one!

    • Yeah, pretty much all laptops (that arn't netbooks) have DVD optical drives, but none the less, being Toshiba, better quality brand, even though it's the older pentium. Good find!

      • nah, the P6100 are based on the i3… so not too old. have a look at the comparison, just have a few features cut off them.
