Not the cheapest ever, but the cheapest its been in a while. With the AUD being poor, $220 doesn't seem too bad and reviews seems solid.

Nothing in the ballpark seems to be available at the moment. Not currently in stock and shipping might be 3-4 weeks.

    The pros are $250

Those pro's aren't the wireless ones unfortunately.

    With the AUD being poor

Nope. The AUD is barely behind where it was when this was AUD $150-$160 on sale.

At this price, it's not worth shelling out the extra money when wireless audio is finally getting a standard (WiSA), and BT is getting a codec update (LC3, via Bluetooth LE).

    • You're probably right but I've been watching the price on these for a while, local stores had them for $265 last week and this week nothing less then $300. The price of most electronics seems to be heavily inflated at the moment and with the amount of time I'm spending at home at my desk I figured I'd pull the trigger.

      • When you're getting into that price range, you should be instead looking at high quality audio options, even if they're wired.

I mean at that point, you're in the range of the Sennheiser PXC550, their HD6XX (though those are iffy for gaming), well past the AKG K371, and several open and closed back planar sets. Comparatively these are $80-$90 headphones without the wireless component.

Even from a wireless gaming perspective, you're close enough to the Arctic Pro Wireless and Astros A50 sale prices that you should consider the value proposition.

FYI, the price is back down to $232 today.

I currently use Beyerdynamic DT990s with an O2 amp for my day to day (with a modmic for gaming) which I love but I wanted to move to something wireless. I already own the PXC550, but these don't work well for gaming as they are BT only.

Both the Pro Wireless and the A50's were on the wishlist but haven't seen a special on these for a while.

  • I have these and they are great. Paid about $170 in November I think.

Whats the mic quality like? Had a look at a few youtube vids and the mic quality seems pretty average

I've never had any of my mates complain and they always seem to hear what I am saying. It's no Blue Yeti but I think for your average Joe it's well above average.

    • I have the 5s and mic is fantstic.

      • These probably sound good in wired mode too, but wirelessly most mics get sacrificed to deliver good audio across the available bandwidth.

The Arctic 7 is no exception.

    • It's excellent.

I begrudgingly bought them for $199 from Kogan, figuring that I didn't want to wait for a better price. They seem to have rocketed in price in the last two weeks.
