Even if this was available (which it isn't), how on earth is ~$3/box of 60 tissues a bargain?

    • Because it’s anti viral.

  • I honestly was more curious about the "middle layer" acting as "moisture activated" anti-viral layer.

    • +2

      Snot activated anti-viral? Nice.

  • +4

What's the point of this? You use tissues if you are already sick.

  • +9

    Is this peak stupidity?

    • +8

      Peak marketing

    Next up: anti-fecal toilet paper

  • From USA the corona capital. Dunno if I would want imported tissues over local production.

  • +2

Whoever in marketing came up with this, give them a raise.
Honestly, would never thought of coining the term anti viral tissues.

  • +3

    Anti-viral? Nope.

Haha - read the recent reviews from the guys in Singapore.

Apparently these are treated with citric acid and a surfactant - cheaper to dip your used tissue in orange juice with a drop of dish liquid - assuming you want to play with it for more than 15 minutes!

    Here's some science: https://www.verywellhealth.com/are-antiviral-tissues-worth-u…

    • The packaging for Kleenex Anti-Viral tissues notes which germs it has been tested against. It says that it inactivates 99.9% of rhinoviruses type 1A and 2, influenza A and influenza B, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) within 15 minutes. (US EPA)

    • Kleenex Anti-Viral tissues are not proven to protect against coronaviruses, which cause 10% to 30% of viral upper respiratory infections.

  • there's toilet paper in every single supermarket here (VIC) why are people buying this from US

  • +1

Ineffective against Covid. Expensive for tissues.
