Buro Mentor chair

I am after a chair for working/gaming from home.

Seems the Buro Metro is OzBargains chair, but the one with arms seems to be out of stock at most places I could find.

So instead I am considering the Mentor model instead:

Seems a fair bit pricier, is it supposedly better?

Has anyone happened to compare both? Just dont seem to find it mentioned much.

Preferably <$500.

Open to any suggestions.

I have the Metro, and looking at the photos and design of the Mentor. I would say it's the lower quality version.

    • Thanks.

  • I have this chair, originally bought it after moving until I got something fancier - but has been greater after 5+ years.

Different chair but will always be my recommendation, my back doesn't love many office chairs but never had an issue with this one.

    • Yes, I have read fair few recommendations of the Markus, but somehow does not look like it will be comfortable to me and headrest looks like it can get annoying. FYI I am only 167cm tall.

      • Never considered height to be honest,I am closer to 180.

Wife is mid 160's and she likes it too.

This is the first high backed chair I have owned and am definitely a convert.

  • Seems there is a Metro ii model, with high back but fair bit pricier $569. Not sure if its worth that much, and what improvements it has over original Metro.

    • The Metro 2 has several variants. One has nylon base and the other has chromed alum. base. The former one costs less and has less durable seat padding.

best price after a lot of searching I could find is Buro Metro with arms and aluminum base for $435 delivered

Cheapest its been with same options on OzBargain has been $279 I believe:

So still a fair bit more to pay now. Guess beggars cant be choosers.

  • I have the Buro Metro with arms and aluminum base for several years, prob bought it at around the $279 price. It's alright, don't think I'd buy it again though, definitely not at $435.

    • Ah ok, thanks for the feedback.

Any specific things you dont like about it?
