  • Check out http://www.thirdeyephotography.com.au/ for photography. Emma is a great photographer.

  • They had a stretch hummer on the Melbourne Cudo yesterday for $229 for one hour

  • Are you saying you want to spend $2k-3k for BOTH photo and video? I don't think you will get anything decent for that budget though. $2k-3k each makes more sense.

  • Thank you for the response guys.

Ideally I don't want to spend more than 4k for both photo and video. I've been given a quote for just video of $2k but their work is quite basic. So I'm hoping for some sort of package on both video and photo might come with some discounts.

    Happy to hear your suggestions

    • I'm a wedding videographer myself so I know how much it cost. And the rule is true "you get what you pay for".

You can only get away cheaper for a good video is if you get lucky and find a real good videographer who's just started and trying to get as much work for portfolios. But then again, they are new so there's always a risk.

Point is, for $2k I can assure you can only get a basic work.. even with combined photo+video package. Decent perhaps, but not a superior quality.

For a good quality product it should cost you around $4k each for a 10-12 hours coverage.

      • +1

I would always recommend taking a thorough look at their portfolio. I have seen some absolutely shocking wedding videography/photography from people who charge $3k +

There are plenty of weekend warriors out there who have nice gear but little to no training, skill or artistic ability.

        • 100% true.

  • There is a new type of photography/videography combo packages

Here is 1 guy that does it (I'm not recommending him, but when I met him for a Job he told me that he was doing seminar's for AIPP members on this new type of package)

  • Contact your nearest uni which offers photo courses.
speak to the head of the department.
ask if they will recommend a couple of good final year students to take pics/video. throwing a couple of hundred at each student to then crop/edit etc.
students get paid experience, buffer their portfolio, you get enthusiatic students whom have excellent equipment and want to please because it benefits them.

    remember this is Ozbargain

    • remember - you are never going to watch your own wedding video.

  • Thank you guys some great suggestions there
