Cheaper than previous deal … https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/525647

  • +2

why do they do this when I just bought their 26800 one for more lol

    • +4

The disadvantage for this is you can't take this on a plane.

      • Interesting - why is that?

        • +7

Government mandates the limitation of single battery units to 100 watt hours, or 26800mah.

          • @shiny1: Does it means for if i want to carry pwr bank on flight one shouldn't by this ? need to go for >=268000mah

            • +2

@Himlord: This was posted in the last deal -
              "Clear on 20/03/2020 - 20:41
Just a different capacity. When we're able to board planes and fly again the 26800mAh will be able to be carried on any flight without issue. For the 30000mAh you just need to declare it at check-in (Virgin) or email Qantas/Jetstar for a 12 month pass."

            • +12

@Himlord: That's right, for no-questions asked, a 26800mah battery is the way to go.
Also, the maths symbol should be the other way around.

          • -1

@shiny1: Interesting, I made it to Berlin and back via Singapore last August and the only place they checked it (30k as in the deal) was going through security leaving Berlin. If I get a sticker and put 26800 on it will they even notice next time?

            • +1

@Mechz: The only place I ever get checked is Sydney airport domestic every single time.

              • +1

@Clear: Asian countries would not let me take on anything over 20000, back in the old days when you could fly.

          • +1

            @shiny1:

single battery units to 100 watt hours, or 26800mah.

            So 2 x 26800mah wont be a problem ?

            • @frewer: Each passenger is allowed a maximum of 20 of ≤ 100 Wh spare batteries.

These are international rules. For ≤ 100 Wh operator approval is not required but spare batteries/power banks can only be stored in carry-on luggage.
For >100Wh - <160Wh operator/airline approval is reguired and no more than 2 such spare batteries allowed on person.

      • +3

I love how optimistic you guys are. Take it on a plane🤭 #stayinghome

      • That is incorrect, max capacity is airline specific…check the airlines website for information.

      • Just as an FYI, I took the sense 8+ to Hawaii and back. No one said anything.

      • I brought two 30k power banks, one of them this, to Singapore and it was fine, hand carry.

    • +2

the 26800 one has a percentage status which is cool. This 30000 doesn't seem to have it. So don't be too discouraged by the 26800 purchase.

      • Can you share link for 26800

        • +1

          https://www.amazon.com.au/ROMOSS-26800mAh-Portable-External-…

although it says 30+ on the device so is the airport peeps going to rustle jimmies until they see a 26800mAh print?

          • +1

@jabroni: On the bottom at the opposite end of the ports is the small print with mAh, amps, voltage and Wh so it'll be fine for airport security.

  • i already have the 20000mAh version.. do i need another…? hmm.. lol

    • +1

yes you do I know you want it.

  • What is the maximum output wattage?

    • +1

      looks like only 18W

      • Correct 18W only.

  • Actually, what's the difference between this 30000 and the 26800 version? Which is newer and which uses newer technology? The 30000 says it uses sense 8 but the 26800 doesn't mention that. So confused lol

    • +1

Yeah the model names can get confusing. The 26800mAh is a newer model and has the display, but the charging tech between the 30000 and 26800 is exactly the same - both 18W.

      • Thanks mate. Now I can feel better about my purchase and not return my 26800. :)

  • Is this one charge notebook or laptop, eg Lenovo?

    • No, Unfortunately not, 36w-45w is the bare minimum.

  • I would wonder, if it would be better to buy 3 20000mah or 2 30000mah. Looks like there is no difference.

    • +3

      3x 20000 because you will lose 2

  • anyone know if it charges Nintendo switch ?

  • +1

Has anyone actually tested it's claimed 30Ah capacity? For this price it's crazy cheap.

  • -1

Has anyone confirmed that this is actually 30000mAh and not 5000mAh?

    • Romoss is a good brand, unless they are fake I would trust their claim

    • +1

Pages and pages of deals and no complaints. The Romoss store on Amazon AU is official and run by Romoss themselves.

    • Found this review on the unit, quite in depth and seemingly positive from what I can gather, very efficient design if this is anything to go by:

"When re-checking again turned out the same result - 22480 mAh or 112.60W.h. Well, then the numbers are real, and this is good news. The efficiency is excellent."

      Hope it helps.

    Bought 1!

    I don't need another one, I don't need it…

    • +8

You can charge your other one with the new one.

      • +2

And do it again but vice versa. Receive Nobel prize for *rediscovering source of unlimited energy.

  • +1

What makes it so special is the dual charging option. The ability to charge using lightning cable is great, what about usb C can I also charge with that? I absolutely despise micro-usb, don't have many cables left since they all snap and break within a few uses.

    • You can

  • Picked up the 30amp a few weeks back from a similar deal. Highly recommended so far. Even though it doesn't support Samsung's fast charge it still charges Sammy phones over QC 2.0. QC 3.0 works on another device I have.

  • Where are these made?

    • +1

China. Pretty much all power banks are made there.

      • +2

The Chinese power bank. It came from China.

        • nice xD

      • any made in south korea or germany?

        • +1

Any particular reason why you're after power banks made there?

          • @Clear: No none, just wondering. Are there?

            • @xtommyk: They would exist but none from Romoss.

              • @Clear: Thanks, ill try to find one from those countries of origin

          • @Clear: #chinaboycott is my guess.

            • @dm01: That's going to be hard if you're not buying fresh food. Majority of gluten in Australia is supplied by China. There is a producer in Australia but they're also more expensive and have had supply issues.

              • @Clear: 🤷 #notmyboycott

                I'm just taking a guess.

                • +1

@dm01: My family owns a few brands in the food industry so I understand the irony of people eating food full of Chinese ingredients while also trying to boycott.

Even if the power banks are made in Germany or South Korea a lot of components like the ICs and sometimes battery cells will be manufactured in China.

  • Does anyone know warranty period on these power banks in general?

    • Fulfilled by Amazon so you're looking at 12 months.

  • The $33 tag is not bad.

  • Hi Im interested to buy the 20k mAh one, there are two version do you know which are newer model?

    1. Larger screen LT20PS+ : https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07TYW7YZ4?smid=A1E147N…
    2. Smaller Screen SW20PS+ : https://www.amazon.com.au/ROMOSS-20000mAh-Capacity-Portable-…

    Thanks in advance.

    • SW20PS+

  • I have this one. It's a good powerbank.

  • And sadly it has expired I assume now.. so time to wait for this deal to come back so I can order some - hopefully in time next time!

  • +1
