$15 of Vietnamese Cuisine for Only $5 from Wrap & Roll (Jumponit) - not good - will not buy again

original post: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/52810

today 21/9/11 is the first time we can use the voucher.
went there an hour ago.. wtf, they gave different treatment between jumpoit and normal full paid customers. if you come with voucher they will give you food in takeaway boxes, and i suspect, less quantity aswell… please confirm if you get no 21, checking the picture/photos on the ceiling there are 8 pieces of rolls but i saw someone bought it with coupon and only get 4 or 5 rolls (and yes in the box not plate) ~~!

i cant re-check the t&c for this deal but im sure it didnt have something like "you get food in a box" "less because you pay $5 only"

5000+ voucher sold! They are gonna be as busy as a bee making those fresh rolls!!
Seems there is no other condition saying that your meal will be reduced in size!
Does that mean they are in breach of the TOC?

    • 5,500 vouchers sold with only a 3 month expiry. Quite a task!!

  • I redeemed this deal today. I picked the sampler rolls and they gave me a box and I ate them in the common area as all the seats in the shop were taken. (It was a very busy day in the centre.) The rolls were quite tasty but not filling enough for a cold day. As far as I can tell it's the same as what you would get if you didn't present a coupon except it's not on a plate. I wouldn't pay $15 for that in future, maybe $8 or $9 max, so $5 was a good deal to try out this place and see what Westfield have done with this shopping centre. I don't know whether they would have given me a disposable bowl if I had ordered pho, or whether the portion would have been smaller than for full price customers.

To be fair to them, this is an expensive food court and there are perhaps only a dozen seats in the shop which aren't that much better than sitting in the common area. If you want better value food, then don't go to this food court. I'm sure the rents are sky-high and reflected in the food prices in all the stores.

No connection with the shop or the centre except as a customer.

  • terrible!

coupon customers treated differently - to me it seems you are only able to have what they have already premade in their takeway boxes - otherwise they would say it has run out…

and there is definitely less than what is shown on the menu (just count the number of rolls or meat portions)

i order number 11 (which is something which cannot be in a takeaway box) and they said it would take 15mins - 15mins i come back and they said another 15mins. while i was waiting another customer ordered and was told it would take an hour to make - during that time we were both offered to change to a take away box because it would be 'quicker'

anyways pretty bad coupon experience and definitely in breach of their terms and conditions.

but hey what can you do…

i know what you mean.. that number 11 must be the pancake. yeah, they cant premade pancake therefore they will try to delay and even say "sold out" something like that ! (to me, they said wait 30mins)

very very bad indeed. and we already pay them in advance.

  • You certainly grab some good ones, and bad ones too, it's just too bad, use social networks to shame them and hope they come off worse, after all bad management won't stop at just ripping off voucher customers, but theres generally not much else one can do

If this was me and the deal was you purchase a $15 voucher for $5, I would order what I wanted and then when it came time to pay I then present the voucher as a $15 bill. Rather than say that I have a voucher and what can I have.

If they then try and say that you can only have this or that, ask them to point it out in the terms and conditions that are printed on the voucher.

If they argue, that's cool, just stay at the register. If they take too long, make them recook your food and don't move. If they are busy at all then they will fold just to get rid of you.

You are only required to disclose the voucher ahead of time IF it says in the terms and conditions that you must do so. You have to abide by the but so do they!
