    bought one previously. The plastic covered screw used to tighten the ball on mine feels like its going to break/shred…as in so stiff and feels like its gonna become loose thread anytime soon. Its very tight and not smooth to undo and likewise tightening. Probably won't buy again due to that issue. well built except for that screw for tightening the ball.

      Thanks - was gonna get two for just in case moments where i want to have a strobe or gopro mounted but will skip for now.

      Hmm got me holding off. I'm wondering if you just got the odd one that is stiff or if its an always issue. Hopefully someone else can weigh in with their experience to increase the sample size.

    Literally just bought mine last week! Side note: Anyone knows what the extra part with a coldshoe screw and a black plate does? It came with the package and I am super confused.

      You can seperate the clamp the the ballhead then attach the cold shoe with screw to the ballhead.
      Them the ballhead could be used as a cold shoe ballhead mount.

    Last week I purchased from Amazon
    2pk of these clamps $13.47
    2pk universal magic arm $11.96
    Normally as a set (1 clamp/1 arm) they retail around $19. I would've posted to OzB but thought these were an awfully specific item.

    I can recommend the clamp and arm version - fantastic quality. Our cameraman at work put me onto Smallrig (he normally shoots football, corporate, cricket etc and rigs his recorders to tripod using these).

          Yeah, I've had a few dumb luck moments on Amazon similar to that. Particularly with Neewer stuff for some reason. Same deal. You can buy two of an item for either the same price or marginally more than the cost for one item. Weird. But good when you stumble across them.

      This smallrig posted deal that is worse than it was last week. Sheesh, that's a marketing botch up. I was warming to the brand, this knowledge has undermined that feeling. I wonder if I will still feel negative in the long run to the brand.

    I've mounted the sensors for the HTC Vive with these for a long time and not had any issues with them. Think I paid double this.
