Printer Recommendation for Index Cards

I'm looking for the cheapest printer that will easily print index cards of a minimum 200gsm but heavier would be better. The budget price is because of the low volume usage so ink or toner costs are less important than purchase price. Individual feed is fine. Is anyone experienced with this sort of usage? I don't need colour inks/toner but don't mind either way. Compact size would be good but not a deal breaker. I'm almost at the stage of using labels to stick to the cards as I can't find any confident reviews on printers for this purpose that are less than $400.
Regards

EDIT: If I have to print large cardstock and cut that is ok too. It doesn't have to be something that can handle 3x5 inch index cards.

  • To handle the heavy card, you want a printer designed to do it (heavy duty business laser for example) or something with a straightish paper path (like this, but not necessarily this model- just an example; https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/canon-pixm…)

I have a Fujixerox b&w laser that will do card, but its a "U" Paper path, so I have to "help" feed it in to get the print started. Fine for 1 or 2, but a pain to be honest.

    • Thanks for that advice. That is the issue with my current printer. I realise the bent path allows for compact operation but straightish is a good idea.
