Wow that is really cheap, this is a great game.

Great until you reach the part that wasn't finished.

What do you mean? I'm keen to play this game. Is it buggy in some parts? Haven't they patched it yet?

        • +3

The last third of the story didn’t make it into the game

        • +2

As mentioned by piston the end game is simply rehash/remix the earlier portions of the game. I would consider myself a MGS super fan but imo it's only the first third of this game that is Kojima made. The next third felt like Kojima was close to being finished and then the last was just Konami patching together what they could and shipping the game out.

@[Deactivated]: in terms of story, 100%. In terms of game-play, I had fun the whole game, even the end.

@che_97: Yeah but I was really invested in the overall story of MGS so I honestly felt robbed, I don't blame Kojima as he was just doing his thing. Konami were to blame.

              • @[Deactivated]: Fair. It did lack that Kojima twist. However I had so much fun playing the actual game. I bought this on PS4 off a special a few months back for $5 and its probably the best $5 i've ever spent on a videogame.

          • @[Deactivated]: Same was disappointed by that, rather a shorter game than filler. FK Konami

I loved this game…. right up to the point they took the lazy/insulting way out and started repeating level - even when they levels didn't make sense.

Anyone knows if its worth getting The Definitive Experience over The Phantom Pain?

    • Not really, it’s just the paid demo and lots of skins included. Half of the skins are for the multiplayer, which was barely alive when I use to play it when it launched.

      • +2

I assume by paid demo you mean the Ground Zeroes prologue chapter which adds some context to the plot?

      • the eva skin cannot be used in single player?

  • The best game. I still have flashbacks to playing it.

Boss quit kidding around… boss? Boss?! BOSSSSSSS!!!!!!

    GMG shows AU$8.59 for me.

    Kept you waiting huh?

  • Great price, I'm about 10 hours into the game and have no idea what's the main story about.
First Metal Gear game (other than Ground Zeroes) I've played so it might have something to do with that.
Starting sequence and some cutscenes are completely off the wall but the rest seems pretty normal
Gameplay is fun and that's what really counts

  • Awesome game, thanks for the post

  • thanks OP, bought

I was price checking before and I copped the Definitive Edition for 8.59 cheapest at Green Man Gaming (initially around 9.15 before but price changed to 8.59 after signing into GMG account)

Note: For those if you already own a copy of Phantom Pain on steam, the extra copy of Phantom Pain from the Definitive Edition goes into your steam inventory (Could gift to friend if you want)

  • Many people say the end game is not finished, which is true unfortunately but it doesn't take away from this masterpeice.

One of my all time best games because the mechanics and systems work so well in this game, a lot of thought and effort is put into making this a true stealth game. As for the unfinished parts, this is due to conflict between konami and the game's creator Kojima. Which means what is in the game is fantastic, just doesn't end on a high note. I still highly recommend it to anyone.

  • I just couldn't get into this game. Clunky controls. Struggled with the button layout. Replaying same levels with different objectives. So many arguments with my brother in law who loves it. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance.
