Want to Buy an eReader, but Not Sure Which One

Happy Friday all!!!
So, I am looking to buy a device for reading ebooks (including pdfs). I like Kindle, but they are smaller that what I am keen on. Do you guys have any suggestions for such devices with atleast more than 8 inches of screen size? My budget is around $350 mark.
Thanks heaps!

Edit: Here are some of the features I am keen on:
1. Internet enabled
2. Screen > 8"
3. Atleast 8gb storage
4. Backlight
5. Supports Kindle (optional)
6. PDFs can be transferred into the device
7. Runtime > 6hrs

    • Thanks, did try that. But also looking forward to see if anyone from this community has used or is using any such device.

    Kindle

    • atleast more than 8 inches of screen size

Biggest Kindle is the Oasis with a 7" screen.

      • Kindle and reduce screen size requirement.

  • Must have backlight

Do you want a yellow or a bluer backlight

    • I guess yellow, as its softer on the eyes.

      • So kindles are out

For 5 and 6 can be done with Calibre so dont worry

Thanks. Just had a look at Kobo Forma. Looks good at a glance. Will dig more.

      • Let us know your thoughts as I am also interested in one.

          Will do.

Second this. Kobo's handle more formats, are better at formatting (page layout) and can be used with the public library Overdrive/Borrow Box system (cant remember which one).
Negative is that they are slightly more expensive.
And use Calibre to manage your books.

  • PDFs are generally crap on e-readers. It's like $450 for a decent sized e-book reader to start. I was in a similar position and opted for a Kindle Fire HD10 + Paperwhite.

  • Check reviews for battery longevity and replacement cost. Amazon rewrote the book on forced obsolescence.

  • I have the Kindle Paperwhite, daughter the Kobo Libra H20. I love my Kindle which I've had for years but I'd prefer the Kobo as it has buttons as well as touch screen, also you can change page orientation. Trouble is, my Paperwhite won't die so can't justify replacing it! (Battery lasts for weeks).

  • Why don't you just get a tablet and download an eReader app? It will be more useful than just an eReader.

    • Have had a look at that but a Tablet does not use the e-ink that an eReader uses which makes it a lot clearer to read.

    • I though about that, but don't want to strain my eyes by reading for longer hours on a tablet. I guess ereaders are better off when it comes to reading books?

  • Boox note 2, no doubt.
Best processer with andriod 9.0, so you can install any apps on it.
