Medjool Dates $12.99/ 907g Pack ($14.32 per kg) @ ALDI

151

If you haven't been able to buy loose Medjool dates at Coles ($12/kg), here is another good price, now at Aldi.

Also, for the packaged Medjool dates, it's a good price compared to Coles and Woolies.

But they're $14/kg at Woolworths normal price..

    • It's not a normal price.. It's just the current price or a 'once in a year' price when Coles, Woolworths and Aldi have them on sale.

Didn't know what to call the price because it wasn't a discounted price (sorry) just saying it's not the cheap compared to colesworth

        • +1

Yes, nowhere my post claims it to be cheaper than ColesWorth. However, the regular price of these dates is around $20-$30/kg irrespective of the store.

@virhlpool: Then don't post because coles and woolies is cheaper.

      • -1

Coles and woolies is cheaper, that's it.

    • +2

Are they packaged though? or you have to pick them from the tray yourself and put into a bag? At coles, the pick yourself option is about that price too. But this product is packaged.

Quite sure it's loose. Haven't tried either recently.

Ahh, yeah, then that's why it's that price. At Coles, it's $12/kg loose. Love them: https://shop.coles.com.au/a/national/product/dates-medjool-l…
But Op's product is packaged, so hygiene wise, it's a bit better. Risky times atm ;) Maybe OP can note that if you can't get loose dates from Coles or Woolies, then this is an option :) (Because we all like our dates cheap and loose ;))

hygiene wise, it's a bit better

Most health issues historically come from producers

Aldi generally doesn't sell it loose. As per the link, it shows a pack of 907g. For the packed Medjool dates, it's a good price compared to Coles and Woolies.

It's very annoying to me to pick individually with tongs. I think individuals ones are $12/kg at Coles. You can go for 5 kg box for $55. And smaller prepackaged ones are $10 per 500gm. Hence Aldi ones represents a better value for me personally.

  • plenty at Coles $12/kg

    • +2

Many people avoid buying loose dates these days as per comments in other posts as they have to touch them and pick them manually (unless there're tongs). These seem to be packaged dates - 907g pack.

      • +5

The tongs are probably more dangerous than the dates

I bought a whole box at coles - 5kg box scans in at $55.

    Freeze half, eat half now

    • Was the box sealed?

      • Yes, they were sealed with a tape as they are cardboard boxes, not the plastic ones.

I got the s&@#%s when Coles was out of stock. I'll lose my s%&?# when I grab these from Aldi!

    $12 at Coles

    No deal

      Agreed!
Perhaps OP requires these dates to make use of his $58 TP?

    • +2

But will they be $12 in 2 days time?
