Click Energy - AmEx Statement Credits

I'm looking at the AmEx Statement Credit deal posted here for Click Energy. I am wondering if anyone, who is currently using Click Energy been successful at claiming/using this AmEx statement credit of spending $100 and getting $40 back. Especially across multiple cards?

I ask because, the deal states "Save the offer to your eligible Card, then join Click Energy and spend $100 or more, in one or more transactions, via direct debit, phone or online at Click Energy by 03/09/2020 to receive one $40 credit. Exclusions apply" which sort of implies they are targeting new customers.

Thanks all!

  • The T&C are very confusing especially when I found this link https://www.clickenergy.com.au/amex

I joined Click Energy recently but didn’t use the AMEX20 code, yet the offer never mentions using the promo code as a prerequisite.

    • Agree, that is confusing! I would not say the promo code is required as AmEx statements (if going of how they work with other companies), there is no promo code ever needed.

  • I had that deal last year on my cards and had no problems redeeming across multiple cards. Now it's almost time to find new retailers. I don't think you have to be new customers with them because how does Amex know if you're one? The only way they do is if you make recent transactions with click, but thay won't be definitive. If you're too worried just give one of the card to me and I'll do a dummy payment and report back ;-)
This deal is targeting new customers to join because those who used it before like me weren't eligible this time round

    • Correct - last years one seems to be straight forward. No mention of needing to "join" or anything!

  • Read past deals and comments. As long as u pay with an amex card.
